On His Blindness
--John Milton
When I consider how my light is spent
E're half my days, in this dark world and wide,
And that one Talent which is death to hide,
Lodg'd with me useless, though my Soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
My true account, lest he returning chide,
免得报账时,得不到他的宽容;
Doth God exact day-labour, light denied,
I fondly ask; But patience to prevent
That murmur, soon replies, God doth not need
Either man's work or his own gifts, who best
Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best, his State
Is Kingly. Thousands at his bidding speed
And post over Land and Ocean without rest:
They also serve who only stand and wait.

And now you are mine
And now you are mine.
Rest with your dream in my dream.
Love and pain and work should all sleep now.
The night turns on its invisible wheels,
And you are pure beside me as a sleeping amber.
No one else, love, will sleep in my dreams.
You will go, we will go together,
over the waters of time.
No one else will travel through the shadows with me.
Only you, Evergreen, Ever sun, Ever moon.
Your hands have already opened their delicate fists
And let their soft drifting sorrows drop away.
Your eyes close like two great wings, and I move.
After, following the folding water
that you carry, that carries me away.
The night, the world, the wind spin out their destiny.
Without you, I am your dream, only that, and that is all.

The Sound of Music
The hills are alive with the sound of music,
With songs they have sung for a thousand years.
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every thing every song it hears.
My heart wants to beat
Like the wings of the birds that rise
From the lake to the trees.
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
From a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips
And falls over stones on its way.
To sing through the night
Like a lake who is learning to pray.
I go to the hills when my heat is lonely.
I know I will hear what I've heard before.
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music,
And I'll sing once more.

These Things Shall Never Die
Charles Dickens
The pure.the bright,the beautiful,
That stirred our hearts in youth,
The impulses to wordless prayer,
The dreams of love and truth;
让我们梦想着爱与真理的;
The longing after something's lost,
The spirit's yearning cry,
The striving after better hopes-
These things can never die.
The timid hand stretched forth to aid
A brother in his need,
A kindly word in grief's dark hour
That proves a friend indeed ;
就足以证明朋友的真心;
The plea for mercy softly breathed,
When justice threatens nigh,
The sorrow of a contrite heart-
These things shall never die.
Let nothing pass for every hand
Must find some work to do ;
尽你所能地去做;
Lose not a chance to waken love-
Be firm,and just ,and true;
为人要坚定,正直,忠诚;
So shall a light that cannot fade
Beam on thee from on high.
And angel voices say to thee---
These things shall never die.

I Think I Can
If you think you dare not, you don't;
如果你认为你败了,那你就一败涂地;
If you want to win but think you can't;
如果你认为你不敢,那你就会退缩畏葸;
It's almost a cinch you won't.
如果你想赢但是认为你不能;
If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
For out of the world we find
如果你认为你输了,你就输了;
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in a state of mind.
成功从一个人的意志开始;
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger and faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

The Answer
回答
Baseness is a passport for the base,
Honour an epitaph for the honourable.
See how the gilded sky teems
With the twisted shadows of the dead.
The ice age is over,
So why does ice still bind the world?
The Cape of Good Hope has been discovered,
So why is the Dead Sea still thick with sails?
I come into this world.
Carrying only paper, rope and a shadow,
To proclaim before judgment is passed
This plea of the judged:
Listen to me, world,
I – do – not – believe!
If a thousand challengers lie beneath your feet
Then I am number one thousand and one.
I don’t believe the sky is blue;
I don’t believe the thunder’s roar;
I don’t believe that dreams are false;
I don’t believe that death has no revenge.
If the ocean is destined to break the dike;
Then let its bitter water pour into my soul;
If the land is destined to rise,
Then let mankind choose a new mountain for survival.
The vast unobstructed firmament
Is it with glimmering stars;
They are a new turning:
These hieroglyphs of the ages,
These staring eyes of the future.

He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
By William Butler Yeats
HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
但我,一贫如洗,只拥有梦想;
我已让梦想在你的脚下伸延;

Sigh No More
From "Much Ado about Nothing" by William Shakespeare
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more, men were deceivers ever;
别再叹息了,女子,别再叹息,男人永远都是骗子;
One foot in sea, and one on shore, to one thing constant never.
Then sigh not so, but let them go, and be you blithe and bonny,
converting all your sounds woe, into hey, nonny nonny!

When I die I want your hands on my eyes
Neruda
When I die I want your hands on my eyes:
I want the light and wheat of your beloved hands
to pass over me their freshness one last time:
to feel the softness that changed my life.
I want you to live while I, asleep, wait for you,
I want your ears to continue catching the wind,
I want you to smell the ocean air we loved together,
I want you to continue to walk the sand that we walked.
I want what I love to go on living
and I loved and sang you above all things,
and so, keep flowering, my flower,
so that you can embrace all that my love can give,
so that my shadow can stroll through your hair,
so that everyone will know the reason I was singing.

You Are Like A Flower
You are like a flower
So sweet and lovely and pure
I look at you
and sadness steals into my heart
I feel as though
I ought to lay my hands on your head
Praying that God
may keep you so pure and lovely and sweet

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
夏天拥有的时日也转瞬既过;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
它金灿灿的面色也常被遮暗;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm’d;
被时运天道之更替剥尽红颜;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

An unacceptable love needs no sorrow but time- some time for forgetting. A badly-hurt heart needs no sympathy but understanding.

Life 生 活
Life can be good,
Life can be bad,
Life is mostly cheerful,
But sometimes sad.
Life can be dreams,
Life can be great thoughts;
Life can mean a person,
Sitting in court.
Life can be dirty,
Life can even be painful;
But life is what you make it,
So try to make it beautiful.
生活可能是智慧结晶;
生活甚至可能痛苦;
