“I know. It’s unexpected like Ricky but it’s awesome. We’re both very excited. You have no idea.” She walked downstairs and found Adam standing in the middle of the room, scrolling through his phone. He looked up and smiled at her. “Okay. Adam’s here. I’ve got to go.”
“Congrats, Tay. I’ll call you later.” She told her before hanging up. Taylor moved towards Adam and kissed his lips softly.
“Hi, babe. Let’s go?” She smiled, grabbing his hand and lacing their fingers together. The fifteen minute drive to the doctor’s office was spent talking about everything that would happen in the next few months, like telling the world and the baby’s room.
They walked in the doctor’s office and sat down in the waiting room, waiting for someone to call her name. When they finally did, they were told to go to the doctor’s room. Taylor had managed to get an appointment with the doctor she had with Richard for the first few months before she left to go to Nashville. Her name was Dr. Riley and she had been super sweet when Taylor first came in. Since she was familiar with the way things worked with Taylor like the fact that everything had to be extremely private, Taylor and Adam agreed it was better.

“Taylor! It’s so nice to see you. Five years go by really fast, huh?” The doctor smiled and Taylor gave her a quick hug.
“It’s nice to see you too. This is Adam. He’s the father of both Ricky and this baby.” Taylor told her proudly, while they shook hands. They sat down and the doctor started asking questions.
“So, how has this pregnancy been so far?” She asked.
“I’ve only known about it for a week but so far it has been like my last pregnancy. Nauseous, throwing up, cravings aren’t a big deal right now but I’m sure they will be.” Taylor laughed.
“You only found out you were pregnant at almost five months when you were pregnant with Richard, right?” Taylor nodded at the question. The explanation they gave her was that she was stressed and it was easy not to notice it. Dr. Riley continued to ask questions about her medical record and her family’s and a lot of other things she needed to know. This wasn’t new to Taylor and she knew that this appointment would be the longest of every single one. When it came to check up on the baby, Adam was excitedly grinning at Taylor.
The doctor moved the transducer around Taylor’s stomach, as they started at the screen. Adam held Taylor’s hand as she smiled softly at him.
“And there’s your baby.” The doctor smiled, pointing at the screen. Taylor’s eyes welled up at the sight, she turned her head to look at Adam whose eyes were filled with tears as well.
“That’s our baby, love.” He whispered against her hair, pressing a small kiss on it. She nodded, smiling so big he thought her face could break in half. Then the baby’s heartbeat filled the room. The beautiful sound could make anyone smile or cry. The evidence that there was a tiny human inside of her made her heart race. If someone were to tell her a few months ago, she would be in a room with the love of her life checking up on her baby, she would tell them they were crazy. But it was happening, everything she never thought would happen was happening and she was damn glad it was.

Chapter14

Ricky, baby? Can you come here please?” Taylor yelled for Richard. They were about to tell him he was having a sibling. They weren’t necessarily afraid of telling him but they weren’t sure how he would react.
The sound of feet running down the stairs sounded through the living room, as Adam took hold of Taylor’s hand. His smiley face came into view as he sat down next to them. She put her arms around her son, pulling him closer to her.
“Mommy and daddy have something to tell you, okay?” The little boy nodded, smiling. “You know how Leo has James, right? Like he’s his brother, yeah?” He replied with a simple ‘yes’.
“You’re going to have someone like that too. A baby brother or sister, Ricky.” Adam said, squeezing Taylor’ hand.
“Then where’s the baby?” He asked, confused.
“It’s in mommy’s tummy, love.” Adam replied, pointing to Taylor’s stomach making Richard furrow his eyebrows.
“How did it get there?” He inquired, still trying to make sense of it all before his eyes widened. “Oh my god, mommy did you eat it?” He gasped and his parents laughed.
“No, sweetie. You’ll learn about it when you’re older.” Taylor giggled, shaking her head. “But the baby is only coming in months because it still needs to grow.” She told him. He nodded his head, staying silent before speaking again.
“Can it play with me when it grows?” He asked.
“Yeah, when it’s old enough it can.” Taylor answered smiling. Richard soon had a big grin on his face and they could tell he was happy with having a sibling which they were super relieved about.

Babe? I’m home.” Adam called out as he closed the door shut, the next day. He had been working in the studio during the morning while Taylor had to go to rehearsals in the afternoon for the tour. The house was quiet, Richard was in school and Taylor hadn’t been doing much the whole morning since she wanted to rest as much as she could.
He didn’t get a response so he wandered to the living room, when he looked out the window to find her sitting on a chair on the porch reading a book. The corner of his lips turned upwards as he noticed how beautiful and adorable she looked with her glasses on. Her beauty was something that always amazed him, especially now as she was with no makeup on. He stood against the window frame, observing her for a while.
