NINA: What a male chauvinist pig! He was a real gentleman in the beginning but then.
                  RICHARD:
You know it's not easy being a man these days. Women don't know what they want. They want a man to be soft and talk about their inner most feelings. but they also want a man to be strong and make difficult decisions, right. What's a man to do?

                        hermit
                        ['hɜːmɪt] 美['hɝmɪt]
                        n. a person who, usually for religious reasons, lives a very simple life alone and does not meet or talk to other people 隐士;隐修者;遁世者
There is a description about hermit as follows:
I can't believe Tom Redman's lived here for over ten years now. I can't imagine living here that long. You know what he told me about Clifford? He said that
when Clifford first moved in here he just kept himself busy with small little
chores(家务) all day and that they actually used to chat quite a bit.
I don't believe it, but hey that was a long time ago.
Now, I don't think Clifford has any social skills. I mean he's a real hermit.
He doesn't seem to have any friends and I've never seen any family visit him. But hey, I guess as long as you're happy with your way of life. It's all that matters, right?
Still, sometimes I just wonder(=want to know) how he got the job in the first place.

Today, we will leran this word:
                          tenant
                          ['tenənt] 美['tɛnənt]
                          n. a person who pays rent for the use of a room, building, land etc. to the person who owns it 房客;租户;佃户(佃diàn)
tenant farmers (ones who do not own their own farms)佃农
Now, look at what the house owner said towards his tenant:
What? I'm just trying to do my job. I love this job, it's the easiest job in the
                          world.
And you know what I'm not the only one with a dog. Apartment seven B, as I
was opening the door to his place I heard this noise.
All of a sudden this vicious(malicious恶毒的) snarling(snarl+ing咆哮中的) dog
                          started running straight towards me.
Well, I was getting ready to fight it, when it stopped! Maybe it was scared. I
                          wasn't scared.
But seven B is David's apartment.
I thought David was a responsible, trustworthy tenant. But, obviously, I was
                          mistaken.
Well, besides noun, tenant can be used as verb. It means:
to live or work in a place as a tenant(作为租赁者)居住,工作(usually used in
                          past tense)

First of all, we’ll see a short conversation:

After class, Li Hua gave Larry a surprise.

                            Li Hua: Larry!
Larry: Really? Get out of here!
Get out of here?
Larry: No, listenwhen someone tells you some good or exciting news, and you are really surprised, you can say get-out-of-here. It shows that you can barely believe the good news.

Here, get out of here, we know its literal meaning is to get away, but in this conversation, we know it doesn’t show the meaning. Yes, here “get out of here” means it’s hard for you to believe it is true, it is unbelievable. So if one day someone tells you “get out of here”, don’t be angry, maybe he or she is shocked.

                            Next, we’ll make some sentences.

-I won the 5-billion-lottery. -Oh, really? Get out of here!

-Today I met a star Jet Li, and he gave me an autograph.
                            -Wow, get out of here.

                            -You are a real asshole!
                            -Get out of here!

Today, we’ll know something about superstition. Do you know what superstition is?
                              superstition
                              [,suːpə'stɪʃ(ə)n; ,sjuː-] 美[,supɚ'stɪʃən]
                              n. the belief that particular events happen in a way that cannot be explained by reason or science; the belief that particular events bring good or bad luck.

There is always something happening around us, for example:

Clifford: No don't, no! Are you crazy?
                              Van: Am I crazy?
                              Clifford: That's crazy.
Van: I just opened an umbrella and you almost had a heart attack.
Clifford: They say opening an umbrella inside makes bad things happen.
Van: So they say. But nobody really believes that. Clifford. It's just superstition. Here you go, your turn.
Clifford: You never offer an umbrella as a gift. It's bad luck.
                              Van: Clifford. Open the umbrella.
                              Clifford: No.
Van: It's just an umbrella, Clifford. It can't hurt you.

So, do you believe such kind of thing? Or do you have anything superstitious to share with us?
