But Jeremy didn't get the chance to meet the handsome actor until December 1969, when both men appeared in the show 'A Talent to Amuse', celebrating Noel Coward's 70th birthday. The attraction they felt for each other quickly grew into something deep and meaningful - they were very similar, sharing a love of life and laughter. Once Gary returned from filming 'Wake in Fright' in Australia, where Jeremy visited him, they looked for a house together in Notting Hill, where they lived together as a romantic couple from 1971. Even after their relationship came to an end in 1976, they were to remain friends for life. Gary sadly passed away in 1995, exactly one month to the day after Jeremy's own passing.
