I'd like to say that I submitted Dream of Five to FEE3 in good faith, and had no idea that Astra had no intention of submitting, given that nothing was ever said to me.
So yeah, the project's dead, lol. Topic is, too, so I'm posting the scripts here
(开始了)Dream of Five was a strange project to be on board with, kind of cobbled together by committee. But the reputation it (eventually) got as poorly-written was entirely deserved, if not entirely my fault - the world and characters were built almost exclusively by other people, so was the overall plot, and artifacts of mistakes made by 14-year olds survived through every iteration.
It was pretty ambitious - and it was, well, pretty, I don't think anyone can criticise the artwork that our spriters lavished it with. But it was a world held together by duct-tape written inexpertly by a teenager. I quit at some point, and Eclipse rewrote the scripts (almost certainly better than I had, but I was never given those scripts) but the hack stalled at, like, chapter 18. Forever
Anyway, Sakusa - who had more or less been keeping the project alive for, like, years, and scandalously was never properly credited for her role in the hack's survival (she also double-checked the scripts for consistency and was responsible for much of the playable cast's revamped characterisation) - asked me to come back, so I did. And it was a painful experience because, man, I was really shit at writing when I was 16! You should've called me out more on that at the time! But I managed to hack out some things here and there and vastly, vastly improve the story in every single metric, largely because I'm five years older and have a third of a Bachelor of Writing now. Anyway, the plan was that Dream of Five would be submitted to FEE3, our dramatic splash back into relevance, but you'll notice the thing with FEE3; we aren't on it.
I did my end of the equation. It's linked above. I'm not going to add to it.
The pacing is still a little weird, since I had to stick to the maps in the order they were played, and it doesn't come to a clean conclusion, but I'm still reasonably happy with it. Just as a little note, the 'Alex Project' was the prototype name for sort of copying the Warren Report mechanic off the Ogre Battle series, so it has backstory for a shitton of characters there.(双线剧情评论开始) Onduris was probably never going to be finished - Onduris was an irredeemable mess, Musain just a hard-to-redeem mess.
On the whole, I'm happy about it, even if I'm a little sad it couldn't come to a clean finish.
Feel free to ask any questions if you'd like to, for whatever reason.
