wonder if her name comes from the Japanese word 付喪神 (Tsukumogami) meaning tool god/spirit? Citing Wiktionary, the 付 part means to attach, and the 喪 part means mourning or loss. I think that fits Tsukumo well. On top of that, Tsukumogami are created 100 years after of being used and Tsukumo was created on the 99th attempt.
