The Creatures of Sanrtuary and Realms Beyond
How many beasts walk this world?
Some scholars have wasted theirlives searching for the answer.
The creatures of the world are simply too great in number. Thatis good for us. It means the tools we have at our disposal are limitless. It isnot our purpose to document every beast, but to study and use the ones thathave something we need.
We can even learn much from simply observing them. Everycreature, no matter how insignificant, exists because it has a strength. Mostare quick, clever, dangerous, or a combination of these things. If they werenot, they would never survive the harsh and unforgiving wilds.
We must understand the inner workings of these creatures. Natureand magic are an interwoven tapestry. The tides, the seasons, and the movementsof the stars are all connected to the beings of this world. They are bound tothe flesh and bone of all beasts. They in fluence each other, just as theyinfluence humans.
Sightings of certain beasts have meaning, both good and ill. Thetime when creatures migrate, hunt, or mate can be a sign of when is best toperform certain rites.
Even beyond their symbolic value, these creatures have practicaluses. Some can be used as bait for larger predators. Some can be harvested forreagents required in spells and rituals. Others can be enslaved as guardians.
All have a role to play in the days to come.

圣休亚瑞及界外之生物
世界上究竟栖息着有多少野兽？
一些学者耗尽一生去追寻这个答案。
我只能说，世界上的生物实在太多了。这对我们非常有利。因为这意味着我们拥有无数可利用的士兵，记载动物数量可不是我们的工作，研究和怎么利用才是我们要做的事情。
其实我们可以从最简单的观察中学到不少东西。每种动物，无论多么渺小，不是迅捷、就是聪明、要不充满危险，这样才能在这些优势下而存在。如果它们做不到这些，就别想在残酷无情的荒野中活下去。
我们必须明白这些动物的内在习性。自然和魔法就像是一张被编织在一起的挂毯。潮汐、季节和星象皆是与世上的生物息息相关的。这些现象深入生物的骨血之中，彼此互相影响，就像它们影响着我们一样。
观察这些生物具有一定的意义所在，无论凶吉。生物的迁徙、捕猎、交配的时节，都可作为执行不同仪式的契机。
如果抛开这些象征性的时间点，这些动物还有更多实用价值。比如有些可作大型食肉动物的诱饵、有些收集起来可作符咒和仪式所需的材料、还有一些可奴役作为看守。
时间一到，所有能用的，都得扮演各自的角色。
Ps: 我脑海里在叙述这段的时候，一直是BBC老爷子说话的声音……

Dune Thresher
Dreams of dune threshers signify anunexpected event is coming. Always be on guard in the daysand weeks after seeing one.
The creatures live beneath the sandy wastes of Kehjistan andonly surface to feast on unsuspecting prey. The ancient Vizjerei demonologistsscoured the deserts for these creatures, but their reasons for doing so havebeen lost to time. However, dune threshers can be useful for us. Their toxicstomach juices are a key reagent in poisons. A single drop, mixed with food ordrink to mask its acrid flavor, is enough to kill. Death is slow and painful asthe poison can take months to eat away at a victim’s internal organs.
When draining the beast’s stomach, move the corpse so that thetail faces east-that is the direction of death. Positioning the creature thisway will ensure the poison is effective.
Approach slain dune threshers with care. Their jagged tails cancontinue thrashing for some time after death.
The rock-hard plates along their bodies are resistant to manyforms of magic, including fire. Vizjerei mages forged these plates intoshackles to constrain lesser demons. My first attempt to follow their methodwas a success, but the bindings did not hold for long. Kulle’s spellwork is farmore reliable.
沙丘巨尾蜥或沙丘长尾蜥
沙丘巨尾蜥的梦想就是猎物不期而至，总是潜伏在地底几天甚至几周等待猎物。
这些生物栖息在凯吉斯坦荒漠之下，只有在捕捉到毫无防备的猎物时，才会钻出地表大快朵颐。古代费斯杰利的恶魔学者，踏遍整片沙漠搜寻这种生物，但他们寻找的目的现在已不可考了(1)。不管怎样，沙丘巨尾蜥对我们来说很有用。他们有毒的胃液是毒药的一方良引。仅一滴该毒混入食物或饮品中，遮其辛辣之味便可致命。死亡的过程，漫长而又痛苦，因为毒素能用几个月的时间腐蚀受害者的内脏。
取蜥的胃时，需将尸体尾巴面向东方，那是死亡的方向，如此摆置可有效确保毒性。
接近刚死的沙丘巨尾蜥时一定要小心。有时它们的锯齿状的尾巴会在死后仍会鞭打。
它们身体上磐石一般硬的鳞片能抵御，含火术等多种形式的法术，费斯杰利法师用这些鳞片锻造出枷锁，捆束一些次级恶魔。我第一次尝试沿用他们的方法便成功了，但没多久它们就挣脱了。库勒的咒术更为可靠。

（1） 下面红字这段爱德莉雅其实是知道费斯杰利法师们究竟要用蜥做什么。

Bogan
The superstitious bogans lurk inthe blood marsh of westmarch, where they form intosmalltribes and worship a crude fire deity. They have an extraordinary sense ofsmell, which makes them expert foragers. Many of the plants they collect-suchas elemus leaf and blood moss-areuseful for summoning rituals. It is easier to pillage a bogan village for thesereagents than to hunt for them in the marsh.
To scare the beasts away, create asmall effigy with human hair, moss, and branches from a pine tree. Ignite theobject and toss it near the bogans. They will flee in terror, thinking it asign from their god. I recommend killing a few for extra measure, just toensure they stay away for a long period of time.
Blood magic suffuses nearly everything in the marsh, includingthe bogans. Manipulating the region’s energy can change the creatures from eithermore aggressive to mor docile.
沼泽怪或沼泽兽(1)
迷信的沼泽怪潜藏在威斯马屈城边上的血沼泽里，它们在那里形成零星的小村落，崇拜着一种原始的火神。能让它们成为觅食高手得益于特殊的嗅觉。并且还会收集的许多植被，诸如草叶精华、血苔藓等，这对召唤仪式很有用途。所以为了这些草药洗劫一座沼泽怪的村落，可比在湿地里苦苦搜寻要容易得多。
驱散这些野兽，可以用松枝、人发和苔藓制成的小雕像，点燃这个小物件并把它扔到沼泽怪的附近。这时它们会感到惊慌失措，以为是火神在向他们启示。我建议多杀几只，好让它们能村外多消停一段时间。
几乎整片湿地里都充斥着血魔法，包括沼泽兽本身。熟练控制湿地的能量，从而改变野兽的攻击性或是温顺感。

（1） 沼泽怪是第五章里威斯马屈郊区的溺水沼地里的怪物，不过有很多种类。

Scavenger
There are many different types ofscavengers. Though they have small physical differences, theyare all aggressive and ravenous. Scavengers travel in packs and eat living preyor carrion alike. When food is scarce, they turn on each other. When that is nolonger an option they gnaw at their own limbs.
The scavengers may seem likenothing more than pests, but they have some uses. These beasts symbolizeambition and survival. Wearing a scavenger paw the day before important ritualswill bring excellent results. However, the paw must be cut from a livingscavenger. It cannot be bought or received from another person, or it will loseits power.
Screeching agitates newly summoned demons. Offering them a fewscavengers to feed on has a calming effect. This makes it easier to mark thedemon’s soul or contain it in a circle of entrapment.
食腐兽或食腐魔(1)
食腐兽种类繁多。虽然体型差异不大，但都极具贪婪和攻击性。它们成群结队的捕猎，活吃猎物，也吃腐食。食物稀缺时，彼此也会吃同类。都吃光了，就会啃咬自己的四肢。
食腐兽看起来似乎没什么用处，但也并非一无是处。这些野兽象征着野心和求生欲。在执行重要仪式的前一天，披上食腐兽的爪子会让效果加倍。不过，爪子可不能是用买的或是赠予来的，必须从活的食腐魔身上切下来，这样才会有作用。
尖叫声会激怒刚召唤来的恶魔。喂几只食腐兽便可安抚他们。也能更容易钩出恶魔的灵魂或是束缚住他们。
PS：
（1） 食腐兽是D3第一章中悲泣荒原内比较常见的怪物，跟书里面表现的不太一样，比较光滑。

Quill Fiend
These vermin are mindlessscroungers who are little better than rats. But they are dangerous.Some rarer breeds carry poisons in their quills, while others produce unstablesubstances that can spontaneously ignite. It is wise to trap rather than killthem so that their bodies can be harvested for any useful reagents later.
Theirquills are sturdy and resistant to magic. They can be fashioned into needlesfor drawing blood and venom from other creatures.
刺脊怪或刺脊魔(1)
这些小害虫可说是一帮****，也就比老鼠强点有限。不过它们仍然很危险的。有些罕见品种的刺带毒、还有些身上带有突然自燃的属性。所以诱捕他们比杀掉强，从它们身上收割这些元素可用作各类相应的药水上。
它们的刺很坚韧，可防御魔法，而用这种刺制作的针，可以在其他物种身上提取血液或者毒液。
Ps：
（1） 也是D3第一章比较常见的怪物，实际上D2第一章中大部分场景中也比较常见。话说这两作的第一章虽是一个地方，咋感觉D2更大些呢。

Blood Hawk
I admire the blood hawks. They arepatient, clever hunters. They wait until their prey is wounded,distracted, or at some other disadvantage before striking. When they do, it iswith all their fury. They hold nothing back.
The Coven can learn from them. Itis easy to give in to our passions, to want the full power of the Burning Hellsat our fingertips here and now. but there will come a time for that. We must bepatient. Be clever hunters. Watch our enemies and learn their weaknesses. Andwhen the Lords of Hell finally command us to strike, we shall do so with allour fury. Holding noting back.
Blood hawk feathers are resistantto fire and ice magic, which makes them ideal quills for writing ritualinscriptions. Pluck a feather from the middle of the left wing but take onlyone. Removing more will dampen its magic properties.
嗜血猛禽或血鹰？(1)
我欣赏嗜血猛禽。它们是狡黠沉稳的猎手。等待猎物受伤、走神，和粗心大意时再下手。而一旦出手了，便释放所有的暴虐，绝不留情。
真神教也应效仿它们。不得不说我们臣服在激情之下，恨不得此时此刻就获得烈焰地狱的全部力量。但这时机还未到来，我们必须学会耐心，学会成为狡黠的猎人。观察我们的敌人，了解他们的弱点。彼时地狱的主人下达最终进攻的命令时，我们也将竭尽所能，绝不手软。
嗜血猛禽的羽毛既抗火也能抗冰魔法，所以用它们制作的羽毛笔，书写仪式的铭文很理想。从左翼中间部分拔下一根羽毛，但只能取一根。拔太多会影响魔法特性。
Ps:
（1） 国服这边没找到对应的名称，说实话我都不太清楚这是哪个怪物，我只记得第二章中凄凉沙地中有个让我玩到吐的成就：猛禽巢穴。在翻译此段的时候，我又回去查了一遍，写的是沙漠猛禽……，所以这个翻译是我个人重新翻的，如果有朋友知道这是对应哪个怪物的可以告诉我一下。

Carrion bat
Carrion bats are auspicious omens. They gather at places of demonicactivity to feast on the dead and draw power from darkenergy. Though the beasts seem like something from the Burning Hells, I believethey are from our world. At some point in the past, demons-or some creativemortal mage-must have warped the bats into their current form.
That is the only explanation I havefor their grotesque appearance and strange breeding methods. As the creaturesgrow larger, their flesh swells until they form a living nest for new bats toemerge from.
They carry a host of diseases whichmakes them useful weapons. Releasing even a few of these creatures into a citywill bring a plague upon the population.
The bats are attracted to the bones of demons, including thoseburied deep underground. Colonies will fly around places where ancient battleswere fought between angels, humans, and demons. They have even led me to sitesnot marked on the old maps.
瘟疫飞蝠或食腐蝙蝠(1)
见到食腐飞蝠可是件好事。因为它们以饱餐死者从中汲取黑暗之力，所以它们聚集之地便是恶魔活跃之所，。尽管这些看起来像是某种从烈焰地狱来的怪物，但我相信它们还是这个世界的生物。一定是过去什么时候，某些恶魔或是有创意的凡人法师把普通的蝙蝠扭曲现在这种样子的。
所以这是我对它们怪诞的外表和古怪的繁殖方式能做出的唯一解释。等这些生物长大了，它们的肉会肿胀起来，直到长成能从其中钻出飞蝠的一窝新活巢。
这些飞蝠携带大量的恶疾，使得它们成为非常有用的武器。在城市里稍微释放一部分这样的生物，就能给当地居民带来瘟疫。
这些飞蝙对恶魔的骨头钟爱有加，即便骨头深埋在地底。所以蝙蝠群会在天使、人类和恶魔曾经交战的地方飞行徘徊。它们把我引到了甚至旧地图都未曾标注的地方。
Ps：
（1） Carrion直译为腐肉，国服为食腐蝙蝠，但是台服应该翻译是瘟疫飞蝙，这个虽然跟英文有些出入，但是根据爱德莉雅的介绍，它们确实算是瘟疫。这是D3第一章常见的怪物，从巢穴里面钻出来的怪物。我忘了如果不碰主巢的话，单刷飞蝠给不给经验了，当然现在没人会干这事儿了……

Khazra
Scholars call them “khazra.”Children call them “goatmen.” In this, the children of
Sanctuaryknow best. They are indeed half goat and half man-just as the foolish Vizjereiintended. But they are not the mindless, loyal weapons the mages wanted tocreate; they are vicious, cunning, and brutal.
TheKhazra spent their first generations of life gleefully slaughtering everyVizjerei they could find. Which is what every single mage deserved, as far as Iam concerned.
Theyare distrustful of humans, and rightly so, but since many khazra clans havepledged themselves to demonic masters, they could one day be our allies. And ifnot, no matter. They retain enough human blood to be adequate for sacrificialrituals.
Thekhazra shaman and sorcerers are powerful, but beware: they will betray us on awhim. Best to avoid any bargain with them.
卡兹拉或月族战士或月亮战士(1)
学者称它们为“卡兹拉”。小孩称它们为“羊头人”。在这点上，圣休亚瑞的孩子们说的更准确。它们确实是半羊半人，正如那些愚蠢的费斯杰利法师所设想的样子。法师本打算是造一种愚忠的士兵，不曾想它们不仅凶猛、残忍而且还很狡猾。
造出来的第一代卡兹拉热衷于杀掉每个它们能找到的费斯杰利法师。在我看来，这是法师活该自找的。
卡兹拉并不信任人类，这点确实应该，但由于不少卡兹拉部落已宣誓效忠于各自的恶魔主子了，或许某天它们会是我们这边的。要是不跟咱们站在一起，也没关系，它们身上流着足够多的人类血液，正好适合用作祭祀仪式上。
卡兹拉萨满和巫师很强大，要提防的是：它们会一时兴起出卖我们，最好不要跟它们讨价还价。
Ps：
（1） khazra这个词在小说《邪不胜正》-旅人篇章中出现过，称之为“卡兹拉”。但国台两服的游戏内翻译均为月亮部族或月族，在这里我认为叫卡兹拉比较合适，这是一种2、3代都曾出现的怪物，算是混血种，实力一般，砍瓜切菜上经验的好怪物。杀完了爆血的音效很解渴。

Lacuni
I once imagined these felinecreatures to be similar to the khazra-wise enough, despite theirbestial nature, to know that their destinies lay with the Burning Hells. Thatis not the case. The lacuni were twisted into panther-like beasts because oftheir ancestors’ foolishness.
Nothingremains in their savage minds but the faintest desire for power, which theywill pay any price for.
Just as I almost did, once.
Asmall display of demonic power will dazzle them for a while. They may evenpledge themselves to us. Do not trust their loyalty unless their minds arebound with an appropriate spell.
Oncesubjugated, harvest the eyes of the lacuni. They have many uses. The creaturescan see as well at night as they can during the day, and their mystics aregifted scryers.
Cutthe eyes from a lacuni with an iron blade, then place them in a box made ofreeds and let them dry for a week. To experience visions of the future, drawthe symbol of the mystic eye on the ground with lacuni blood, eat one of thebeast’s eyes, and burn the other eye in an iron pot while inhaling the smoke.
Tosee better in the dark, coat both eyes in emberlen wax and wear them as anecklace.
拉库尼或豹人(1)
我曾误以为这些猫科动物在智慧上与卡兹拉非常相似，尽管在天性上更具野性，你可能会认为，它们如今的样子是烈焰地狱给的，然而事实并非如此，扭曲成豹子的模样是因为拉库尼的先祖愚笨而铸就的。
在它们凶残的心智里，除了对权力的微弱渴望之外，就没剩下什么了，即便如此它们也愿意为此付出任何代价。
我曾一度，也是像它们这般。
稍微展示一点恶魔之力就能让它们赞叹好一会。为此它们甚至会效忠于我们。但切不可轻信它们的忠诚，只有合适的咒符约束它们的心智才行。
一旦降服了拉库尼，挖取它们的双眼，可用之处颇多。这些动物看黑夜的景象就如白昼一般，而它们的密宗者是天生的占星师。
用铁刃剜出拉库尼的双眼，放置入芦苇制成的盒子里，风干一周。然后用它们的血在地上画出神秘之眼的符号，接而吃掉其中一颗眼球，再将另一只眼球放入铁坩埚中燃烧，吸入烧出的烟便可窥见未来的景象。
那么想要在黑暗中看的更清楚，就得把安伯伦(2)蜡脂涂在两只眼球上，然后把做成项链戴上即可。
Ps：
（1） 拉库尼就是D2中，鲁高因沙漠里的那种窜来窜去的怪物，后来D3中也多次出现，台服翻译为音译拉库尼，国服为型译豹人。话说就没点原则吗？比如台服瘟疫飞蝠就是结合怪物的特性翻译的，到了这个怪物上又音译了，搞不明白。
（2） Emberlen这个词究竟是什么意思？凯恩之角的百科，以及维基百科上都查不到，不论是地名上、或是人名上都没有相关信息，所以就直译了，有朋友知道的可以告诉我一下。

Hydra
Hydras are commonly seen in visions.They represent doorways, transformation, and the openingof new paths.
Theancient Triune studied the Zann Esu sorceresses and how they summoned thesefiery, multi-headed creatures. At first, the cult believed that the hydras weredemons ripped from the Burning Hells, but they were wrong. Hydras are elementalbeasts from our own world. They live deep underground near molten veins andpits of fire.
Ihave seen a hydra in the mystic fires once before. A great beast of many heads,all but one engulfed in flames. The creature never spoke, but it watched me. Itpeered into me. From the weight of its gaze I know that it holds vast knowledgethat will make us stronger.
多头蛇或多头火蛇(1)
多头蛇常见于幻像之中。象征着门廊、转变以及开辟新的路径。
古代的三合教信徒研究了佐安.伊苏部族巫师是如何召唤这些多头燃烧的生物，起初，信徒们认为多头蛇曾来自烈焰地狱被撕劈出来的恶魔。但他们弄错了，多头蛇是来自我们世界的元素野兽。栖息在地底深处靠近岩浆矿脉的地方。
我曾在神秘的火焰里见过，这种俊美的多头野兽，除了一颗头之外其他都淹没在火焰里。这种生物从不出声，但它还是盯着端详着我，从凝视的分量上，我知道这东西本身就包含大量的知识可为我们所用。
Ps：
（1） 多头蛇是D2、3中秘术师或法师的一个技能，我个人以为多头蛇是召唤的法术形态，不曾想还真是个动物。

Fetish
The people of Kurast tellfrightening stories of the tiny, human-like fetishes that roam the localjungles. If I did not already know they were native to our world, I would thinkthese creatures were born from the deepest pits of the Hells. The fetishes areindividually weak but overcome this flaw with group coordination and deadlyweapons. They swarm like rabid dogs, shooting poisoned darts that paralyzetheir prey so that they can finish the job with their long knives. Thebloodthirsty creatures would make fitting servants for a demon lord.
They are susceptible to the influence of demons. Verysusceptible.
For being so small, fetishes are atreasure trove of reagents. The creatures have magic in their bones which givesthem various gifts. They have incredible stamina and can travel for dayswithout rest. Dry their hearts and lungs, then grind the organs into a powderfor use in potions that grant speed and reflexes.
鬼娃
库拉斯特居民盛传一种在当地丛林中游荡的矮小、类人型的生物。要不是我已知晓它们是来自咱们这个世界的土著人，我可能也会以为这些生物是来自地狱深渊。单个鬼娃非常脆弱，但是通过群体的默契和致命的武器来取长补短。它们作战时，像疯狗一样风卷残云，先吹射毒镖瘫痪猎物，之后用长刃解决。这种嗜血的怪物可说是为恶魔主人量身定做的士兵。
它们极易被恶魔所影响，特别容易多愁善感。(1)
这么小点的鬼娃却是药剂素材的宝库，它们的骨头里都含有魔法，如此便有了各种各样的天赋，比如它们耐力十足，可连续几天不休息的奔跑。所以风干它们的心脏和肺脏，然后将这些器官碾碎成粉末，用于制作加速药和提升反应的药剂。

Realmwalker
This is not a creature born ofSanctuary, nor of the Burning Hells, or even of the High Heavens.
They come from the chaos ofPandemonium with its endless layering of magics meant for killing, warding,cleansing, and corruption.
Profoundly fascinating, they canshift from one realm to another by instinct alone. Above their heads sit aswirling mass of primal energy that acts as a rift, which allows thiseffortless travel.
Perhaps we could use one of thesecreatures to traverse in and out of the Burning Hells with ease. However, theirrifts seem unpredictable, so we must be very careful.
They trap sentient prey by hidingunderground and pretending to be nothing more than a rift between worlds.
异界行者(1)
这个生物并非诞生于圣休亚瑞，也不是烈焰地狱，更不是至高天。
它们来自群魔要塞(2)的纷乱之中，其无穷尽的魔法层界，旨在杀戮、警醒、肃清和腐朽。
令人着迷的是，它们头顶着一座原初的能量漩涡，用天性使然的能力从一个世界穿梭到另一个。因为那漩涡形成一个时空裂缝，便能轻松游走与各界之间。
也许我们也能用其中一个方便出入于烈焰地狱的世界，不过，它们的时空裂缝似乎很不稳定，所以一定要加倍小心。
它们将身体潜伏于地表之下，伪装成穿越界域的时空门，来捕获有意识的猎物。
Ps：
（1） 没找到这只怪物的国服翻译名称，这是D3第五章位于永恒战场的一只紫字怪物，后背背着一扇传送门。
（2） Pandemonium这个词在凯恩之角的资料库中名为群魔要塞，但是在台服中因为没有对应的名称，我猜应该是混沌界，本着只用台服名称的我，这块地方发现，之前的泰瑞尔之书中，我就用的群魔要塞，所以只好沿用了，未来（很可能不会）有机会在统一修改吧。话说国服这个地方叫什么？真的叫群魔要塞吗？

Scouring Charger
The scouring chargers are attunedto the latent magics of pandemonium and sustain themselves by feeding off theseenergies, or the relics discarded by demons and angels. This natural affinitymakes these creatures valuable tools for tracking down places of power orharvesting magic.
Follow the creatures from adistance to find areas suffused with energy. Or, kill them and harvest theirmagic-rich bodies. It makes no difference what method is used. In the end, theresults are the same.
The length of a scouring charger’sspines is a sign of their age, which determines the amount of magic that can beleeched from their bones. Consider that when choosing which of the beasts totarget.
Before I learned of the Black Soulstone, I thought perhaps oneof these would be strong enough to contain the essences of the Evils. Alas, thebeasts could not.
冲击兽或冲锋兽(1)
冲击兽能熟练运用潜伏在群魔要塞的法力，他们用法力来维持自己的能量，或是用天使与恶魔遗弃的圣物来填补能量。这种天生对法力的亲合力，利用这些野兽搜寻魔法器物、法力成为不可多得的好方法。
从远距离跟随这种野兽可发现弥漫能量的地方。也可杀掉它们获取充满能量的肉身。手段随意，反正达到目的就行。
冲击兽尖刺的长度是它们年龄的标志，这决定了能从它们的骨头里吸出多少魔法能量。所以在选择冲击兽时一定要考虑到这点。
在我知道到黑灵魂石之前，曾以为这种野兽的法力足以强大到能禁锢恶魔之魂，唉，我想的太天真了。
Ps：
（1） 在第五章中永恒战场中，穿越异界行者的传送门，然后进去是遗逐之境，在那里面都是小径那种迷宫，挺烦人的。冲击兽就在这张地图里，它们的攻击方式是从天而降，砸到你的身边，我猜它们可能跟蝙蝠一样倒吊在洞顶。

It is the angels that I see as themost dangerous to humanity. They hunt and eliminate any source of disorder, and they thinkthemselves brave and honorable for it. Sanctuary has only avoided an invasionfrom the High Heavens because perhaps-perhaps! -we will not side against them.
This is not an act of compassion. It is a threat. A leash.
If humanity ever forges its own destiny-or finds its fatealongside the Burning Hells-we will all find ourselves burning in “holy” fire.
That is why we must know these creatures, for we will one dayface them in battle.

至高天与天使众
在我看来天使绝对是人类最大的威胁。因为他们猎杀和肃清所有混乱的源头，自认为是勇敢和值得敬畏的。虽然圣休亚瑞至今也未被至高天入侵，也许正因如此，仅仅是也许，我们没道理跟他们作对。(1)
但它们这可不是同情之举，这是种威胁。是套在脖子上的绳子而已。
如果人类掌握了自己的命运，或是自己开辟宿命与烈焰地狱站在一边的话，我们都将找到心中熊熊燃烧的“圣”火。
这就是为何我们必须了解这些生物，终将有天我们将直面它们投入到大战之中。

（1） 爱德莉雅知道天使不作恶，或许她正是出于他们的不作为，才燃起了自己干脆加入恶的一方，好向明知道这些恶行仍不作为的天使们。

Angiris council
High in the clouds lies a paradise.A silver city of hope. All the angels that walk its streets are shining paragons of heroism whoalways know what is right, and always fight in the name of peace and decency.Such are the tales told to children.
A brief glimpse of the EternalConflict makes lies of all those stories. Angels and Demons both make warbecause it in their nature. Very few on either side have any true insight intotheir own destinies. They fight because they were born to fight. They corruptbecause they are corrupted. They make order out of chaos because they know noother path.
Once I discovered the power and thepossibilities of the dark arts, my mind began to despise the creatures of theHigh Heavens. The darkest part of my heart was reserved for their leaders, theAngiris Council. It was a reflexive hatred, but the more I learn, the more itfades.
Angels are not innately deservingof my hatred. You cannot blame any creature for their nature, only for theirchoices. Angels are born with the purpose of bringing order to existence. Itmust be a curse to have such a false, impossible, self-contradicting goal. Onlya few in the entire history of the Eternal Conflict-on either side-have everquestioned their purpose, and fewer still have acted upon it.
安杰瑞斯议会(1)
至高云端有天堂，银光之城满希望。步行在街上的所有天使均是熠熠生辉，充满英雄气概的楷模，它们永远知道什么是对的，永远以和平和高尚之名而战。这就是讲给孩子的故事。
从永恒之战之中细微的描述就能揭穿这些故事的虚假，天使和恶魔之间发动战争是源自它们的天性，双方都鲜有能看清自己命运的。它们生来就是为了战斗而战斗，也因堕落而堕落。它们歼灭混沌寻求秩序，别无他路。
当我领会到了黑暗之术的前景和力量，我就越加鄙视这帮至高天的生物了。我想用心中最毒辣的手段留给安杰瑞斯议会的这些领袖们，但这只是一种因站在对立面自发的恨意，当我了解的更深，这种恨意反倒逐渐释怀了。
天使没资格让我恨，你不能去埋怨任何生物的天性，要怪就怪它们的选择。天使自古生来就是为了秩序而存在的。有这样一份虚伪、不可能做到且自相矛盾的终极目标，必是一种诅咒。在整场永恒之战的整个历史里，两方之间只有极少数会对天使的目的提出质疑的，也只有极少数对此采取了行动。

（1） 天使议会其实就是安杰瑞斯议会，我之前做的泰瑞尔之书用的就是这个名称，所以沿用下来，我觉得是个糟糕的决定，毕竟天使议会比较好理解。但是我忘了为什么要这么做了。Damn
