NYC - Town Hall February 2000 - Acoustic show
The place was sold out, totally packed (and that's a BIG place). It was a seated show, too Elliott was notably (and understandably) nervous, but he was striding ahead despite that.
Anyway, at one point, he said:
"Hmm. It seams so formal here. Not bad, just formal. Everyone's sitting down... I don't know."
To which a girl in the crowd responded: "At least we can see you Elliott!"
Elliott paused, looking more than a little uncomfortable, and said very uneasily, while making a kind of "Man this is weird" face:
"Hmmm.... I can .... see you too...."

Same show, he was beginning to play "Everything Means Nothing to Me" on guitar and when he started hitting those high notes - "everything means nothing to MEEE" - and he started coughing horribly! I guess he had a dry throat or something.
Well the crowd lost it and cracked up... it was pretty funny.
When the coughing fit subsided, Elliott looked at the crowd sarcastically and said, "Oh, you liked that one, huh?"
He could be a real riot sometimes.

Elliott:“嗯...我也可以看到你...”
同一场演出，他开始弹吉他唱Everything means nothing to me，当他碰到那些高音的时候—"everything means nothing to MEEE" - 他开始严重地咳嗽！可能因为喉咙太干了还是什么的...好吧，台下的人群都笑倒了
咳嗽平息后，elliott挖苦地看了看众人说：“哦，你喜欢那个，是吧？”
有时候他可以是个真正的"RIOT"...

he said the Oscars people were pressuring him to play miss misery, if he didn't they'd get someone else to play it.
“like Richard Marx. It's like Richard Marx is the universal scare tactic.”
奥斯卡主办方施压要Elliott唱miss misery,如果他不去就会有人代替他去
“比如理查德马克斯。这就好像理查德马克斯是通用的恐吓手段。”

It was sweet, when he was like introducing the band he was like, "here's my big brother, Sam, he's a fabulous person, I love him." Then Sam (Coomes) like did the gagging sign, so Elliott took his guitar off and jokingly like beat it over his head.
