To Guangya School:
Firstly I must say thank you for the generous hospitality that you showed me and my family on our visit to your prestigious school.
From the short, but informative tour around the school, I could see that you were proud of the schools heritage and that many of your values matched that of my school, Eton. Before we even reached the conference room I was amazed by the student’s spectacular English skills, I could only dream to have that same level of Chinese under my belt at the age of 18.
The questions that you put across in the discussion were well thought out and intriguing, many of which I hope my brother and I answered to a level of satisfaction. I specifically enjoyed the question on what we thought about Chinese girls, which definitely put us on the spot.
I implore all of you to come to come over to the UK so that you can see at first hand the differences and similarities between the two distinct, but successful education systems of the Chinese and the British.
I hope to visit again,
Thank you,
Yours,
Jamie Hua Ming
Special Thanks to Crystal – I am glad that you were interested in Cricket, if one in a hundred schoolchildren can become interested in China, I believe that is a good start and it means that the foundations for the sport can be built. And thank you for your book on Ancient China, I’m sure it will come in handy soon. Thank you.
And to Marina – I don’t think I can thank you enough for the hand-made start up guide to the Chinese language that you gave me, it was fascinating and I know it must have taken a long time, so it means a lot to me that you gave it to me. Thank you.
