Details of Tropical Low 25U at 2:00 pm AWST:
Intensity: tropical low, sustained winds near the centre of 75 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 100 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 20 kilometres of 13.2 degrees South, 95.0 degrees East , 230 kilometres west southwest of Cocos (Keeling) Islands .
Movement: south southeast at 6 kilometres per hour .
Tropical low 25U currently lies west southwest of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. It should move towards the east southeast, and is likely to pass south of the islands overnight. During Friday it should then start moving towards the south, away from the islands.
The system is now only a Moderate (25%) chance of developing into a tropical cyclone overnight. However, gale force winds remain possible on the northern side of the system until Friday morning.
Although there remains a risk of 25U developing into a tropical cyclone early next week, it should be far enough south of the islands for no direct impacts to occur.
