This man has always been in the hearts of his fans from the time he was introduced in the movie “2499 The Gangster Takes Over the City.” …No matter if that be in movies or TV dramas, we must wait to watch…if we hear that Tik—Jesdaporn plays. However, he is a leading actor who is a little more unique than others. They say waiting to watch his TV series is like waiting for the World Cup Soccer because there is only one to watch every 4 years. That is because he still has his life in other things he loves to do, especially the Navigator program he has fashioned till it turns into his identifiable logo… We have an opportunity to talk with him knee-to-knee so it makes us know more deeply about his identity…particularly when he has added fatherhood role and just freshly returned from visiting his dream destination as well… So there are plenty stories to share.

It’s just the right moment because I am filming the Dragon Blood series—the Singha part. More than half has been filmed and I have to stand by. The series is filmed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week. I can’t survive on the 3 days that are left (laugh).

A really long time. The most recent time I played an action role was in “Tawan Tad Burapa” [The Sun Faces Off the East]. That has been about more than 10 years. If you ask me what I am the best at, it’s action.

BUT YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE ROLES OF A ROMANTIC HERO A LOT

Yes, yes. I can quite manage in a role like that (laugh). Several producers and directors usually give me that type of role to portray. If asked how good I am at it, it’s probably not as much as action. I must say that action definitely agrees with me. No need to say much. Just fight and fight, shoot and shoot, and that’s the end of it (laugh). However, I have to stretch myself just a little because I have not done it for a long time. It’s like wiping, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and knocking rust off to warm my body, something like that. I thought I would be able to do it this or that way. But my brain went first and my body didn’t do it as expected (laugh), so… Eh! What the darn should I do (laugh)? So I have to stretch myself and warm up more. I have to exercise more.

THIS SERIES SEEMS TO BE A MEGA PROJECT FOR THE CHANNEL
这个系列剧似乎是三台的鸿篇巨制
Yes, it is. It is divided into Tiger, Lion, Bull, Rhino, and Swan parts. I am in the Lion part. Each part is different. They set it up so there is erotic-drama type that belongs to Ananda. It’s a slap-n-kiss type (laugh). Mine is a romantic action. There are comedy action and drama action. Each one has different theme but action is the main thing in each story. I like the work atmosphere. The team is new and we never met before. The script is in the style I like also.

DO ALL THE 5 MEN—ANANDA, TIK, KEN, ANDREW, AND BOY HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET?

Yes. If this were a safari, it would have been among the top five (laugh). It is more like play when we get to meet. We have fun together although we are serious when we work. We all get to talk and brag. Each of us is seasoned in our experience. If you ask whether we are pressured when we work together, we are probably not in terms of competition. I feel more pressured in my responsibility for my part of the series. Mine is the Lion part and there is a lot of depth in the character because he has conflicts with his father and he has to become the gang leader. I have to fight more against myself in terms of my responsibility than against others. I look at meeting the others as fun. I don’t know what other dramas would let us meet like this. It’s a good opportunity.

YOU HAD NOT PLAYED ACTION FOR A LONG TIME. DO YOU HAVE TO ANTICIPATE WHAT EXPECTATION THE AUDIENCE WOULD HAVE?
你不演动作戏很久了。你是不是必须要参与到观众的期望中来？
Certainly. People have their expectations when they wait for someone’s work. When there is none, they ask when I’ll have one. Once there is, they think a lot about wanting to watch it. However, I think those various expectations are like stimulating forces. Waiting for something is a stimulant and the things about to happen are exciting. I have to wait and anticipate myself too as to how it will turn out. While I am working, I can guess just a bit as to how it will turn out. For the work, I guess if it would not garner that much interest, I would feel even more like, hey! Wouldn’t it be better to add something so it looks more interesting? I try to help them create (laugh) because I am the type that does something a full 100%. They ask me to do this much but I think of it more because I think a lot, so much so that I sometimes feel, eh!... Do I interfere too much with their jobs (laugh)?

IS IT BECAUSE YOU THINK A LOT ABOUT YOUR JOBS SO IT TAKES A LONG TIME FOR US TO GET TO WATCH EACH OF YOUR DRAMAS?
是不是因为你关于工作想法很多，所以我们要看到你的每一部作品都要花很长世间？
I look at a job like an artwork. You know that it is like someone drawing a picture. I will not able to draw it if there is no inspiration or good humor. I would not know what color to use and my mood would not take me there. It’s the same as acting. There must be mood for me to take part. It’s true there may be several camps and people wanting to work with me but I have to ask myself too if I am ready for their works.
我把我的工作看成是艺术工作。你知道就像画画一样，如果没有灵感或者好的心境我就没法画画。我会不知道用哪种颜色，我的情感不会带动我。演戏也是一样的，必须有一个氛围能带我入戏。可能真的有一些团队和人们想和我工作，但我必须问问我自己他们的工作我是否准备好了。
SO THEY JOKE THAT TIK’S DRAMA IS LIKE THE WORLD CUP SOCCER THAT HAPPENS ONCE EVERY 4 YEARS.

(Laugh) Looking back to the last 2-3 dramas from “Kaew Ta Pee” to “Wanida,” both of them were exactly 4 years apart. And it had been about 4 years as well from “Wanida” to “Forget Me Not.” The timing was really like that.
（大笑）回顾过去的两三部剧，从“你是我的眼睛”到“一诺倾情”，确实间隔了4年。从“一诺倾情”到“勿忘我”也是正好4年。时间真的是和世界杯相符。

YOU HAVE CONTINUOUSLY ACCEPTED TV DRAMAS NOWADAYS. DO YOU HAVE TIME TO GO INTO THE WOODS?
如今你不断的接受剧约，你还有时间去丛林吗？
I must say that I have some time. I have very little time these days to get out and film the program but I’ll try. Suppose I film a TV drama 4 days in a week but if they say there are only 2 days in a particularly week, oh,… I gain a 2-day profit. I’ll gradually keep those in stock for the program. I’ll rush out to do it although I may not get to do the entire episode.
我必须说我有一些时间。现在我外出拍摄节目的时间很有限，但我会尽力的。比如我一周拍4天电视剧，如果他们说某一周只拍两天的话，哦...我就多了两天。我会把这些时间都用于节目。我会冲出去拍节目，尽管可能不能拍完整集。
YOU STILL HAVE THE STRENGTH. EXHAUSTION FROM FILMING A DRAMA IS ALREADY NOT ORDINARY BUT YOU DON’T GET TO REST EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE THE TIME.
你仍然有力气。拍剧已经不是一般的累了，但是你即使有时间还是不能休息。
My inspiration is when I get to out into nature. I do it fully when I am upcountry and don’t think it’s a burden. If you ask whether I am tried, I am but it’s the job I love and am fond of. As for work, there are two parts. When I am filming a TV drama, I am an employee. But when I am filming the program, I am the boss. I am happy to do both so you’ll certainly get to see me do both simultaneously as long as there are still people hiring me, in parentheses (laugh).
当我出去进入到大自然，我就得到了鼓舞。我在内陆的时候我全力地做这件事，并不认为是负担。如果你问我是否累了，是的，但是这是热爱的工作，我喜欢去做。对于工作，有两个方面。当我拍摄电视剧时，我是个员工。但当我制作节目时，我是老板。这两样我都很高兴做，所以你们一定会看到我同时做这两样事，只要还有人请我，这句话也是括号里的（大笑）。
LETS ASK YOU SERIOUSLY IF YOU AREN’T TIRED.
让我们好好的问你，你真的不累吗？
I am (with emphasis). I am like a person unplugged once I am done with my work. Bing!... And the engine is out. Lets start it again later. Like the Navigator, it’s not only exhaustion just because of the traveling. I also have to check the footages we’ve made when I get back and take them through editing, adding soundtrack, writing script, and something along the line. I would probably not have done it if my heart were not there. Just walking up the mountain is already tiring. Lets just say it simply (laugh).
我累（强调的语气）。当我做完工作时，我就像被拔掉了插头。Bing！...引擎熄火了。让我们以后再开始吧。像navigator，让我筋疲力竭的并不仅仅是旅行，我回去后还必须检查所有的影片，带它们去编辑，加上音轨，写脚本和其他的事情。如果我的心不在那里，我就可能做不成。仅仅爬山已经够累了。我们还是简单说说吧（大笑）。
DO YOU LOOK AT THE PROGRAM AS YOUR SUCCESS AND PRIDE BECAUSE IT’S SOMETHING YOU HAVE CREATED WITH YOUR OWN HANDS?
你是否把你的节目看作你的成功和骄傲，因为这是你亲手打造的？
When I did it in the beginning, people did not understand. Some of them were muddled and others thought I was a fake. Oh!... He is just pretending to hike in the woods. How far would he go? But I have always said that I like it that way. I am a hiker. No matter. I’d get them to see the truth and the identity of Jesdaporn. I want to tell stories this way for people to see. And from that day to today, it has been almost 10 years. It’s December and the Navigator is almost 10 years old with hundreds of my hikes in the woods. I think it has probably proved many things and a lot of people realize what I am doing is real. I am in the world of reality.

IT TURNS OUT WHEN WE SEE TIK, IT’S LIKE WE SEE THE NAVIGATOR PROGRAM

(Laugh) Yes, and it has to be with a salute. I have been able to make it a success. From when I didn’t think the name of the program would even be the Navigator to it being my personality and style. Once we talk about the forests and when people travel to nature, everyone thinks about the Navigator. I am delighted because at least I am a part of promoting nature conservation. It causes people to travel with awareness. It makes them see forestland, wildlife and various things like the sea, mountains, and waterfalls in nature that belongs to Thailand. They get to see what few people can. I go instead of them to where it’s difficult to get to so everyone gets to see that Thailand has such beauty.

WITH THAT SAID, TIK’S LIFE HAS EXCITING THINGS BECAUSE YOU GET TO CHANGE TO VARIOUS ROLES AND THE GOOD THING IS THAT ALL OF THOSE ARE WHAT YOU LIKE.
这么说起来，TIK的生活有很多令人激动的事情，因为你需要不断的变换角色，而且幸运的是这些角色都是你喜欢的。
I think we must have faith, belief and dreams in our life so it is meaningful. I live my life based on that principle. I write it down and attach it to my forehead (laugh). I am happy with it there. It’s my identity. Okay, I may run into obstacles or things I don’t want each day but I try to get rid of them. Those things sometimes come in the form of something floating in the air. So why do we pay attention to something floating in the air? It’s better to make us happy and it depends on how we will manage ourselves. It’s good that I travel and I do it with adventure. I have run into enough obstacles, barbs, and challenging things so it’s like things taught in school. So up until today, I don’t feel that normally living my life has any hardship because I have seen it all. Once I run into it again, eh, it’s trivial. I have seen more than that (laugh).

He is already 8 months. He is stout and strong. I must say that having a new family member is a delightful thing and everyone is glad. We all give him love. I see him as modeling clay or white cloth. Like what we love to say, we can embellish or mold him in whatever way we want. I’ll try to do it to the best of my ability from my experience. I am the type of father who can do everything—bathe, feed, and everything else instead of his mom, except nursing him (laugh). I’ll say we have to help each other because I’d want to do it even if I am not allowed to. It’s a moment in life when I can do it. Once he grows up a little more, I won’t be able to wipe his rear end or whatever. So I’d better do what I can. I want to.

He begins to fuss noisily already. He is quite naughty by the look of it. P’Willie told me believe it or not, children copy their father or mother. They sit like us and they have our characteristics. I couldn’t imagine it at the time but I can now because there are things such as sitting or other habits like his sleeping. He likes to sleep on one side, something like that, like his mom and dad. It’s strange and I am like, hey, I have my copy (laugh).

HAS YOUR LIFE CHANGED ONCE YOU HAVE A BABY?

No, not at all. Everything is still the same. My life style is the same. It’s just that there is a new family member to add colors to life. That’s all.
没有，完全没有。每件事都是一样的。我的生活方式是一样的。只是有了一个家庭新成员，给生活增添了一些色彩。就是这样。
