Crawling is a form of locomotion used by animals and insects to move from one place to another. It involves the use of legs, arms, or tentacles to propel the body forward. For example, spiders and caterpillars use their eight legs to crawl along surfaces. Some lizards also crawl on their bellies while other animals such as snakes slither across the ground using their entire bodies. Crawling is an important form of movement for many different species as it allows them to explore their environment and search for food or shelter. Additionally, some animals use crawling as a means of defense against predators since it can be difficult for predators to catch them when they are moving slowly across the ground.
