我爱韩剧，我现在正在写些关于韩剧的东东 - -
I’ve been watching Korean dramas (on and off) as long as I can remember: At least for the past, oh, fifteen years or so. My first Korean drama was the 1992 hit Jealousy, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
我一直间断性得看些韩剧，从我记得开始，大概15年左右了吧。看的第一部韩剧是1992年很火的《嫉妒？》（没看过……），自此后就迷恋上了韩剧。
This site is where I ramble, or wax poetic, or rant (depending on my mood and/or the weather) about anything related to Korean entertainment, dramas, culture and, when I’m feeling off-topic, anything else that pops to my mind.
这是我经常逛的网址，会写点关于韩国综艺、韩剧、韩国文化或者其他随时想到的感想，有时也仅仅是发牢骚而已（取决于心情或天气 = =）……

I started this site because I couldn’t find a site providing decent (or any) analysis for kdramas, a longtime guilty pleasure of mine. I found most commentary on popular culture to be either simplistic (often with shallow or no discourse) or aggressively highbrow (sneering at anything popular as though it were infected with a disease). I wanted to marry the two — to express an appreciation for quality that didn’t automatically dismiss something for being popular. Or, on the flipside of that same coin, to discuss something popular that went beyond surface discussion of the plot or its hot cast.
我开办（？）这个网站是因为无法找到可以给予韩剧正面（任何）评价的网站，对此我一直很内疚（？）。我发现对于流行文化的大部分评价，要么过于简单（经常只有浅显的见解或无任何见解），要么过于激进（认为任何流行文化都是种“病”）。我想把两者结合起来——表达对有品质的流行的欣赏，换句话说，讨论些除了剧情或演员等浅显信息外的内容~~

关于名字
Originally this blog was at javabeans.wordpress.com; I used javabeans as my handle on a whim, because I happen to like coffee. Maybe “like” is too mild a word. Had I known that this site would grow into what it is, maybe I would have thought the moniker through more, but then again, maybe not.
起初我的博客是在javabeans.wordpress.com，我用javabeans只是心血来潮，虽然我刚好喜欢咖啡。也许“喜欢”这个词程度还是浅了点。如果当初我知道这个网站会变成现在这样，当时或许会多考虑下这个博客名字；当然，也可能不会 = =
