There are currently no significant systems in the region. A trough extends off the northwest Kimberley coast. A weak tropical low lies near 15S 121.5E, but is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone. It will remain fairly stationary before dissipating on Sunday or Monday. The trough will continue to enhance shower and thunderstorm activity over the Kimberley for the next few days. A weak low may develop south of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands on Saturday, and then move towards the west. It is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next three days, but it may increase shower and thunderstorm activity over the Cocos (Keeling) Islands over the weekend. Although at the beginning of next week, some guidelines leave the possibility of the arrival in our basin by the eastern edge of a low-pressure circulation, the potential of evolution into a moderate tropical storm remains almost nil during the next five days.
