Crocodiles took a (newborn/stillborn not sure) baby elephant into deeper water of the Chobe River. This allowed them to open up their prey from below. During the three hours that Veronica and I photographed this extraordinary behaviour one large croc at a time drifted very slowly to the CNP Photography Boat, stared deep into our eyes and bumped it's nose on the front of the boat. As the crocodile turned back to feed it was replaced by another repeating the process. The message was clear. This elephant calf is ours and you two are next! Beyond eerie!!
