Lonely path across the marshland
孤单之径横涉泥沼
Leads to a forlorn grey lodge

For the lone dweller is now gone

For on this hoar peatland no joy will live

And bells they toll

In cold morning light
于晨冷冽霞光
Once there was a fleeting time

When sky was less dark for a while
天未墨染其色苍苍
And the one that she adored
挚爱之人亦在身旁
Walked her across the churchyard
与她相偕漫步圣堂
Flowers bloomed and bells they tolled
众芳发时闻钟鸣响
Hopeful was the spring's tone
恰似春归青帝吟唱
But on this barren marshland

No gladness will ever last
纵有喜乐仅是一晌
Here the nightly frost will creep inside the hearts

And soon came the day, when bells they tolled again
佳景难长，钟复鸣响
For her dearest one, beneath the stones now lies

On through the burning night
越劫火燃尽之夜
The fever and the fear
处灼热惊惧之间
Against the gates of death
与生死之界门前
I pound, I wail, I cry
抢其扉掩，号哭而言
With broken voice and heart
破碎之心以它喑哑声音
I demand a bargaining
陈我祈求之情
I offer all I have

This blackened soul of mine
纵惟此朽坏木石之心
That once was pure, unspoilt
虽尝未染尘烬
That once was fair
虽尝澄澈如晶
Hear me now
若能闻我此言

How could there be laughter left in these songs

How could there be mirth and joy in this world

For what am I now anymore
我曾经踪影已消失不见
But a wretched old bard
唯此诗人于其暮年
Weary and torn
疲乏之中止步不前
For all of those dreams have withered and died
靡丽梦华只过眼皆空
For all of those hopes have vanished into night
旧日希望亦遁入夜中
No grace in this voice anymore
不闻往昔圣洁诗篇
But a wretched old bard
但闻诗人于其暮年
Forlorn and torn
叹其伶仃踌躇难前
But there was ever only one
而唯此一人
The one that I would hold
为我曾珍爱者
The one that I still long
为我犹怀念者
Mute is the sorrow of mine
我悲无言已难诉
Voiceless the yearning inside

Dark is the path in the end
莫测之径为终途
Sore are the wounds I hide

Once there was a time when they all praised my name

And after all the years that go by
虽时过境迁
I remember the one
我犹念一人
The one that I still look for
犹寻一人
Only for her I would play my tunes
仅为伊人将旋律弹奏
Only for her I would write these words
仅为伊人将诗篇写就
Only to her I would sing
仅为伊人而颂唱感慨
But she never hearkened to me
此声于她却未曾入耳
