STEAM stands for science,technology, engineering, arts and maths and advocates the combination of knowledge of various fields. It recommends increasing the interaction between disciplines, playing the functions of comprehensive education, letting students learn in an integrated environment and allowing them the chance to solve problems met in projects with knowledge of multiple disciplines.

In just-finished “Dreamy Kids’ Adventure” Summer Camp, British castle building was also part of a STEAM exploration lesson. The School had some specific requirements set on castle building. Each group was given the same materials and was told to recreate on the premise of obeying these requirements. How about the result? We amazedly found each group had built their castles with distinctive concepts, each unique in their own way. Built together with students and teachers, the castles reflected students’ knowledge in mathematical conversion, artistic appreciation, scientific exploration, innovative thinking and other realms.
