In spite of the biting coldness, my favorite time of the year is when the silver winter melts into the spring. Where you would feel the whole world come back to life from the seemed unforgiving hibernation.
The humid from last nights sprinkle was still lingering in the air. Some crystal like droplets fell from the willow branches as they were swinging in the spring breeze. The breeze then gently skimmed over me and gave back the smoothest of my hair which had been previously robbed by the winter storm. Walking towards the Chinese arch bridge made of huge gravel stone, I found the pathway was covered with off white petals of plum blossoms with some fragrance still remained.
There was one tiny little frog and several fluttering butterflies accompanied me going up to the slope, I bet they must be losing their way after waking up from the very long winter break. We could then hear the flowing water of the river bubbling under the path we were strolling on. With the thirst for seeing the new born spring views, I speeded up my walking pace.
And finally when my company and I reached the top of the arch bridge, I saw the Chinese traditional buildings with curved roof and white wall solemnly sitting in two roles by both banks of the river. The river, however, had a smooth laminar flow rather than having some turbulence hiding beneath the surface which I thought there might be. And there were some sparrows arguing for a more suitable tree branch with plenty of sunlight to get themselves warmer. Also the swallows who had just come back from the south are flying around to search for some materials to build their new nests.
People also started waking up and coming out from their houses. There were some fishermen that had already begun netting over the water and several women doing their laundry by the riverside. A retailer was crying his wares and a little kid was dragging his mum begging for buying one sugar figurine from a stand on a street corner.
Everything seemed to have come back to life again, not just the flora and fauna from the nature, but also the people with the fine hope of the new coming year ahead.
