In keeping with our tradition of holding an annual singing competition, this year we are pleased to bring you The M Factor. Whether you're an aspiring singer or just somebody who enjoys singing along to Mariah's music, join in this unique opportunity to have your voice heard and compete with other talented Mariah Carey fans.
RULES & REGULATIONS
• Auditions. Starting today, Nov. 24, 2008, through Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at 12:00pm, send in your recording of any original Mariah song in MP3 with the filename format: FirstName-LastName-Country-NameofSong.mp3, uploaded on YouSendIt or zShare only, to mfactor@mariahdaily.com. Please indicate your Full Name and Country, and write in subject line: "The M Factor Entry." Only one entry per person is allowed. Previous Mariah Daily Idol Grand Prize winners are not eligible to enter the contest.
• Judging. The MDJ Team and a panel of select judges will evaluate all entries and choose the Top 12 Finalists from Dec. 4th - Dec. 7th.
• Online Poll. On Monday, Dec. 8th, the live face-off among the Top 12 Finalists begins and for a week, through Saturday, Dec. 13th at 12:00pm, fans will vote online for their favorites. Although this is a talent competition, popularity will also play an important role as votes are not restricted. Results are hidden and revealed only after close of poll.
• Themed Weeks. This year, we decided to have a theme for each week to make the competition exciting.
WEEK 1: "Vision of Fame" Week - Top 12 Audition Songs
The rest of the themes will be announced when the Top 12 finalists have been selected.
• Selection of Finalists. At the close of each week's poll, the 3 finalists with the least votes will be eliminated. The Top 6 finalists will compete in the next round, then the Top 3 in the Finals. The winners will be officially announced on Sunday, Jan. 4th.
