南北战争双方的确装备有滑膛枪，但是在数量上，就我现在查到的资料来看，似乎不如线膛枪多，而且数量很少，战争双方使用他们的主要原因是各自还有的库存
线膛枪方面，像Springfield线膛枪大概总共生产了150万支，他们的滑膛枪型号只是在战前作为替代品使用，M1861量产后就很快替代了他们。其他的例如Enfield Rifle Musket，在整个战争期间大概进口了90万支，Lorenz Rifle总数量大概在30万支左右（联邦226，924，邦联100，000），还有Whitworth Rifle生产数量在13，000左右

After 1863 the Union no longer used the smooth bore musket at all.
The Confederacy on the other hand still used them throughout the entire war albeit in very small numbers.
Both sides of course converted to the much more powerful and accurate rifled musket. Which could not be compared to the smooth bore in any way.
The rifled musket was far superior in every respect.

南北战争有如此重大伤亡的原因之一就是武器使用的大多为线膛枪，而战术却选用了拿破仑时代的线列战术，希望这资料能对楼主有帮助，或者有错误的话，欢迎指正

问题是即便是滑膛枪，因为要使用米尼弹的关系，也开了膛线。
即便是型号一致，但是枪管已经是用拉床开膛线后的了。

m1855 ,m1842,m1842 还有他列的一堆枪都是rifle musket或者rifle的，whitworth这根本就是南北战争的狙击步枪，还不是来福，不用理这种人，明显是瞎说话
