In the class, you said that "not in the labor force" doesn't include those on active military service, in prison, or in mental hospital. So are they in labor force?
I don't understand the difference between "working-age population" and "non-institutionalized population, could you please explain it?

In the ppt, about the Minimum Wage Laws, it says "Some workers will be unemployed whowould have been employed if there were no minimum wages. As a result, the unemployment ratewil be higher than it would be without a minimum wage ". I think with no minimum wage, the average price will rise over the past price, which leads to surplurs for employment. Employers will lay off some workers, so the unimployment rate will rise. It seems oppisite to the right point, where am i wrong?

                    Hi, Prof. Lin
I still could not understand this statement : "Its initial employment values can besignificantly revised as data from additional establishments become available."
                    Could you explain it again?

I think labor union is benefit to the unemployment rate, because in our book, it says:" most workers who can't find jobs in unionized industries because the wage is above its market level can find jobs in other industries". That is to say, though the wage is above its market level, the workers can also find jobs. So why not choose the answer as C? I don't know why B is correct.....

You said the base year change doesn't matter. However, the data at class you told us is not true. That should be 0.4%, but the second answer is 0.488% and it should be 0.5%, so the real average doesn't same.
