满清在入关初年所发布的阉割汉文化的“剃发易服”令，至今都让许多汉人感到无法接受，让我们再来看看外国人是怎样评价这段历史的：
这是在上周，我的历史教授在Europe and China during 14th-16th century课上讲到的关于中国文化的改变时所讲到的“剃发易服”：
The traditional Han Chinese hairstyle was, in my opinion, the most beautiful hairstyle in the world during the medieval age.Traditionally,adult Han Chinese never cut their hair. According to the Classic of Filial Piety, Confucius said:
"We are given our body, skin and hair from our parents; which we ought not to damage. This idea is the quintessence of filial duty "
"Classic of Filial Piety " was part of the Confucianism, and it influenced the Han Chinese race for thousands of years....Therefore, Han Chinese usually let the hair grow and comb it into a coil on the top of the head.
（中国汉人的传统发式，在我看来，是中世纪里全世界最美丽的发型。一般来说，中国汉人从不剪头发。在《孝经》里，孔子说过：“身体发肤，受之父母，不敢毁伤，孝至始也”。 《孝经》，作为中国儒家的组成部分，影响了汉人几千年，中国汉族人一般都留长头发然后把头发扎起来，盘成发髻扎在头顶。）
