MANILA: The US-backed Asian Development Bank will cooperate witha major new Chinese-led multilateral lending institution and they plan toco-finance projects this year, the ADB’s president said on Friday.马尼拉电: ,亚行总裁周五表示，美国支持的亚洲开发银行将与新成立的主要由中国主导的多边贷款机构——亚投行进行合作,他们计划今年联合融资项目。
The Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has beenviewed by some as a rival to the World Bank and the Philippines-based ADB,which was founded in 1966.总部位于北京的亚洲基础设施投资银行已被看做是世界银行和亚洲开发银行的有力竞争者,亚行成立于1966年，总部位于菲律宾。

But ADB President Takehiko Nakao said he did not believe theAIIB, which will launch next week with starting capital of $20 billion, willdiminish his institution and they were happy to work together.但亚开行总裁中尾武彦说，他不认为将于下周正式运行的启动资金为200亿美元的亚投行将削弱亚开行的职能地位,他们乐于和亚投行合作。

Nakao said the two men agreed to co-finance certain projects inthe region to address transport and renewable energy needs, and expected toannounce specific projects by about the middle of the year.
