Pumas are large,cat-like animals which are found in America.When the reports came into the London Zoo that a wild puma had been spotted,they were not taken seriously.As the evidence began to accumulate,experts from the Zoo felt it obliged to investigate.
The hunt for puma began in a small village where a women picking blackberries saw 'a large cat 'only 5 yards away from her.It ran away immediately when she saw it,and experts confirmed that pumas will not attack a humen being unless they are cornerd.The research proved difficult,for the puma was observed at a place in the morning and another place 20 miles away in the evening.Whereer it went,it left behind it a trail of dead dear and small animals like rabbits.Puma fur was found clinging to the bushes.Severial people complained cat-like noise at night,and a bisinessman in a fishing trip saw the puma up a tree.Experts were now convinced that the animal was a puma,but where had it come from?There had been no puma reported missing from any zoo in the country,So it must have been in a private celector and managed to escape.The hunt of the puma went on for several weeks and it was not caught.It was disturbing to think that a dangerious animals still at large in the pieceful countryside.
