LAGOM - DEL1
It sounds awesome, this's how the guitar should sound!!
I remember that... before I started this project, I was in the studio with Tony Nilsson and we would write a song. Then we started to write a verse and a chorus, which felt very good. It felt like a completely different kind of style as well. After that I would be heading off for an hour, to jog and work out... and after that I would go back to the studio. And on the way, when I went to the gym then ... I had the mobile phone in my hand and looked through the text and thought ...
"This would be awesome, in Swedish".
It just came to me, I don't know how, but it just did. So I translated it the text, went back to the studio, tried to record it and it actually felt even better!!! ...than the previous text, so we continued on that road. And it was the first song that I wrote for the album.
I think the text is a great fit... for the entire this period, since I started to write for this album and for this entire process. It has got me to feel, free in some way. That I get to be free to do exactly what I want. To create my own vision, and that's what the song is about. The song is also about you go own way and you look at things from your own perspective, in a good way!
It's about a... a new start in life. To see things in a completely different way, and you see all the possibilities. And you see that the most important thing in life is to feel free and not be locked into anything. Do what you want and dare to live your live and don't settle for "Lagom"(not too much or too little).

TA MIG TILLBAKA - DEL2
"Ta mig tillbaka" is like a small singer-songwriter type of song. Though most often, those who write about their time is about the 70s... an older generation. But my track is about my 90s the late 80's, early 90's.
8-bits, Billie Jean, MTV, The Water Festival... things that I myself, experienced when I was growing up. Even this feeling of something that's bigger, "Larger Than Life". That feeling, that you can miss a little bit today. Because everything is so available, compared to that time. I like very much electronics and wireless stuff. But sometimes you can miss the old things, and that's exactly what the song is about.

Yes exactly, I understand!
Sat in the back seat on the way to France, we drove down (road trip) one summer. I sing "There was a war with Rosa, mile after mile". There were always fights with my sis, in the back seat. That's, what it's about. Then when you were playing in the woods. We didn't have so much stuff with us. We only went to the woods, where you just pretended ... "This's such a building, this's a sword... You could build something so big out of nothing.
And today all kids are sitting with their iPhones... it's a completely different world than the one you grew up in yourself.

JULIET - DEL3
"Juliet" is a song about Romeo and Juliet. I tried to make the text more modern... so they met at a after-party, a bit of that type so that it will not be too old-fashioned in that way but still maintain the love story. But skip the tragic part at the end, and just sing about the... strong love.
It's a very simple song, very summery, happy... and think it's a song that's comfortable to hum along with. It's also a nice track to play at festivals. Just because I think of the summer, when I hear this song.

GÖTEBORG - DEL4
When I wrote "Göteborg", I actually started with the chorus first, which I don't usually do that first. I usually start by writing the verses, then the pre-chorus and then the chorus. The first thing I wrote was "The City of Stockholm is so empty and Gothenburg is my grief, came home from there". Then I thought...
"Ok, but what should I write in the verses?"
"The Missing/The longing", what is it that you feel? Usually it's stuff you see that reminds you of various moments that you can relate to. Then I tried to write something about it... "if I watch that thing over there then I think of you, your shirt is over there, the smell...". You feel a scent. All the different senses that you has, I tried to include that.
The chorus is very funny to sing because it's unexpected, somehow. The entire verse and the pre-chorus is very peaceful and harmonious. Then comes the chorus with a "bang" and it becomes another kind of feeling, that's a little more desperate.
But in a big way, the song is about the longing and not about that I hate Gothenburg.
I like Gothenburg! I've done a lot there to the album.

FÖLJA JOHN - DEL5
I don't know... when I talk to my friends, for example, I like to talk about deep things, fuzzy things... "the big questions actually" about what you think of stuff. You come with your own theories that "this's how it would be" or talk about politics, the world, about how things looks etc. I like to talk about that kind of stuff, very much and I think it reflects in my lyrics - with this album, that I think a lot about this kind of things.
Such as "Följa John", that's such a kind of song that explains this! As I've thought about very much, "Every day is written" and sometimes you get tired of it. And not only every day, but the whole life!
"Now you grow up, now you should go to kindergarten, now you do this, then you should get engaged, then you should get married, then you should retire... then you will die".
"Then you have holiday here, you have two weeks..." You're free but you are imprisoned at the same time. You're not free actually. It certainly fits many. And many people need such kind of arrangement and think it's nice, but everyone doesn't think that. I have some difficulty to this, because it doesn't fit all personalities. And that is what "Följa John" (follow the leader) is about.

VILSE I DIG - DEL6
I know that David, that I wrote with, thought that this was a "Swedish RnB" song. For me, I felt quite the opposite. I thought this was more like a "ballad", lost in you (vilse i dig), a small postcard - ballad. Which is a very detailed, in such a way that it differs very much from the other songs in the album. Where I describes more emotions, but here I describes exactly "Saw you outside of ICA (grocery store), I never went forward, I was wondering if you saw me ..." very detailed.
So I think you get a very direct picture of how... what it's about and how it looks, how it feels. The special thing about this song is the shape of the song. Because it's not the traditional with a verse, pre-chorus and chorus. The song's form came from the song itself, the feeling of the song.
Actually the song doesn't go up somewhere, or down. And that was what I thought was cool, it still felt like it took off when a new part came in the song. Even though it doesn't actually raise.

TÄNK DIG - DEL7
"Tänk dig" (Imagine) is a song about everything bad that's happening in the world, right now. Things that I myself have seen in reality and that I follow, and I'm very tired of it actually.
I was very frustrated when I wrote the song but at the same time I wanted to write what... I want out of everything, and what you want to achieve. "Its just to think in a new direction, Imagine doing like this", and how things can be.
I don't wanna believe that people want to live in misery because that's where we're headed to, it feels like it. And that's why I wrote this song, because it's something I think about very often.
There are things that's happening in our country as Kurdistan, things happening in the Philippines where I also was. Incredibly very bad things that comes up... I think and hope that people feels as I do. That more and more people will become aware of things that's happening today.
What I want with the song is that people should start to think differently, therefore it's called "Imagine" ("tänk dig") and I think that's the only way to fight this hatred. The thing that's stronger than this "dark part" is love.

I DIN HAND - DEL8
"I din hand" (in your hand), actually, this song isn't written about myself. But I know that today it's very "important" for many to find a partner who has a good job and is very successful. And it's almost that thing that's the most important thing to have, in relationship. "That's what makes you give it a chance". I think it's a pity, because the foundation should be of a good relationship, is how you feel about each other, if you like each other.
It's a little about that, the song are about. "Bittersweet" type of text, that "my heart is all I can give you. You have it in your hand. I know I can't give you the whole world. I don't have so much but I have... That's what I can give, I hope you want me anyway". That's what the song is about!
"I think my base that I played in the last chorus now, I would like to have it. Because where it went up, it's the octave and then we can add a synth bass underneath. Then it becomes a nicer dist, I think"
It's very stripped down and I wanted it very stripped down. Because it felt that it would be much focus on the vocals, and only the guitar. That it would be a nice, relaxed feeling of the song. And I think that we accomplished that, when we recorded it. It's exactly the sound I was looking for, that I wanted in the song.

KOM MED MIG - DEL9
"Kom med mig" (come with me) is actually about trying to convince a friend to come along out. And then combine it with a party, that's held outdoors in nature instead. Because I thought it fits much better with this entire concept, with the nature and become one with it. So I thought, or had a vision in my head ... a big bonfire, in a forest where you dancing and drinking - "the intoxication in the veins" (in the text). You simply just have a fun time.
"Come on, you have to live a little. You must come with me, and tonight we'll have so much fun and we should just be. And just have fun, stop thinking". That's what the song are about, to have fun!!
I'm like that as a person. That once I decide that "now I'll go out and have fun" then I go for it 100% and drops everything, and enjoying it. Such as now, these weeks I am completely the opposite. I'm really structured, wakes up early, eats breakfast, doing my job, doesn't go out, doesn't drink, eat healthy... Because it also affects!

VINTERN - DEL10
There's many who asks, when you are abroad... Because people know that people here in Sweden is very creative. They usually asks, "Why do you think there are so many songwriters and so many ideas coming from Sweden?. Even though it's not a big population.
I think... a big reason for that is ... that it's very dark during the winter and there's not much to do. We don't have so much summer... we don't have very good weather.
I think it's easier to be creative when there's not much to do outdoors. You sit and think... very much. You writes... you're being creative and find other things and it was that for me. For example, when I wrote "Vintern" (The Winter) and "Nattmänniska" (night person).
I wrote together with David and Ollie, and when I did it, it was very dark outside and there wasn't so much to do than just sit inside and... I wrote the songs, and it was these that were the results. It's a bit... not sad but deep, very deep, "Nattmänniska" is very dark. While the "Vintern" is more sad in some way. It's bitter, at the same time that you remember back to something that was very nice and that's what you're sad about.

NATTMÄNNISKA - DEL11
I had a street in my head that I saw in front of me when I wrote the text. There's a street in Berlin, I have lived in Berlin twice and I hang out a lot over there. It's such a city that really starts to "live at night" even more than during the day, I think. We named the project "Oranienburger Straße", because it's that street that I thought of, that's a little messy sometimes.
I saw in front of me a bar, I sing there. A bar, where all of us, who are night people, gather together at that time. There's something dark with it, though that you still likes it, in some way.
Even my creativity "wakes up" more at night than during the day. I notice that I write much better then, and I also sings much better and even my voice wakes up too. Therefore, I usually don't like to sing, when I'm on TV if it's early broadcasts. I usually find it a bit tough. Because of, it doesn't sounds that good, compared during the night.
Right now, as I'm working today - I sleep early and wakes up early, so I have a structure. But I have a completely different kind of lifestyle, sometimes when I have my spare time. Then I am very much of a "night person," then I sleep late and it's almost at that time I "wakes up" and... That's what the song is about, "I shines", almost more at night than during the day.
