在最近的采访中，作者乔治·马丁透露了自己将如何为这部史诗巨作收尾，他说目前尚未完成，然而他也确认了结局不会像红色婚礼一样是个悲剧。
“我之前就说过我希望的结局的基调是苦乐参半型，”他说。“我的意思是，托尔金（《魔戒》作者）对我有很大的影响，他完结《魔戒》的方式我很喜欢，”他又说。“结局是伟大的胜利，不过这个胜利是苦乐参半的。弗罗多已经不再完整，他去了不死之地，其他人过着自己的生活。。。。我想说的是这就是我想去追求的那种大结局的基调。至于结局好不好，那是你们这些记者评论员以及我的读者们说了算的。”
我们实话实说：好像也没有人指望马丁能来个太团圆结局吧，大家说是不是？

In a recent interview, author George R.R. Martin talked about how he plans on approaching writing the ending of his epic series, which he says he hasn't done yet. He did confirm, however, that it won't be horribly tragic a la the Red Wedding.
"I've said before that the tone of the ending that I'm going for is bittersweet," he said. "I mean, it's no secret that Tolkien has been a huge influence on me, and I love the way he ended Lord of the Rings," he said. "It ends with victory, but it's a bittersweet victory. Frodo is never whole again, and he goes away to the Undying Lands, and the other people live their lives. ... All I can say is that's the kind of tone I will be aiming for. Whether I achieve it or not, that will be up to people like you and my readers to judge."
Let's be honest with: No one expected Martin to end it all with a big happy song and dance number, did they?
