New York Fashion Week is coming up, and this year it's bringing in a wave of new features and changes. Check out our guide for all of the details!
With New York Fashion Week only a month away, we’ve created an all-you-need-to-know guide covering everything from the new location to the designers. An announcement was made earlier today with all of the details, and it looks like this year’s shows will ring in a new era for the much-loved event.
NYFW is moving on from Lincoln Center, with shows bouncing between Midtown’s Skylight at Moynihan Station and TriBeCa’s Skylight Clarkson Sq. The event’s new permanent home, however, is planned for Hudson Yard’s upcoming Culture Shed on the West Side.
The New York Business Journal reports that Mercedes-Benz is giving up its reign as NYFW’s long-time sponsor, with Lexus stepping in to become one of the lead supporters. Other sponsors include Maybelline New York, TreSemmé, Intel, E! Entertainement, and DHL.
As for the designers, the list includes Badgley Mischka, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, J. Crew, Rachel Zoe, Tadashi Shoji, Prabal Gurung, and Public School, to name a few.
According to the New York Times, the event will also debut several new logos this year. The overall logo (shown above), released just last month, was inspired by the New York City flag and features the colors orange and blue. Made Fashion Week and WME-IMG will have individual logos for their own sets of shows, and WME-IMG will use the title New York Fashion Week: The Shows for their schedule.
With all the new features and changes, NYFW is set to be an exciting week for the fashion world. The shows will run from September 10 to September 17.
