Prologue 前传
Starting to write a long article on Jeremy all of a suddenis making me quite nervous, and makes it awkward for me to pick a point for meto start. Let’s start with the basic information of Lin. Jeremy Lin, AsianAmerican Basketball Player who is currently playing for the Charlotte Hornetsas a Point Guard (2015/7/18).
突然开始这篇关于林书豪的长文我也不知道该从何说起，说实话我有一点紧张。那先从林书豪的基本资料开始吧，林书豪，亚裔美籍篮球运动员，现效力于NBA夏洛特黄蜂队。
But our story will rewind all the way back to 2002, backwhen Lin is in the 9th grade, High School freshman. Back in primaryschool he was the number one point guard without doubt from the Y league, butdue to his identity as an Asian American, not a single AAU (Amateur AthleticUnion) was interested in him. After all only one team gave him a shot, theMetro Mirage.
但是我们的长文要从2002年开始说起，那时林书豪九年级，用国内的说法，初中三年级。（美国1-4年级为小学，5-8为中学，9-12为高中。）小学时他是Y联盟（帕罗奥图市小学联赛）最好的控球后卫，但是由于他美籍华人的身份没有任何AAU球队（业余体育联盟）接收这名优质控卫。最终，只有一只AAU球队接手了林书豪，这支球队就是地都幻想队。
As previous Mirage Coach Jim Sutter claims, he went to watcha Y league game down in Palo Alto, and he was surprised by this kids scoringability. He said “you wouldn’t think it, but, he just scored the basket sowell.” The first tournament Lin stayed with the Mirage, he was “raining 3pointers.” Later as Shirley Lin (Jeremy’s mother) said, Lin has got the “strongwill,” to get anything he wants. After all Shirley said that she is really proudof Jeremy even back in AAU.

Jeremy Lin’s abilities certainly brought him a littleattention, but that was about it. He joined the local high school Palo Alto andas a 5 foot 3 freshman, he soon made it to the roster. However his height didlimit him quite a bit.
林书豪的杰出能力让他获得了少数人的目光，不过也止步于此。他加入了当地的传统高中帕罗奥图高中，作为一名身高仅为5尺3英寸（163厘米）的新人，他很快就成功挤入了校队。但是他的身高很快成为了他的障碍。
Lin said he remembered this very well, back in year 9 every morningwhen he got in the car he would grunt about how his mum is so short, Shirleyalways told Jeremy to blame his dad. Shirley is 5 foot 6 and as an Asian womanthat is way above average, unfortunately, Lin’s father was also 5 foot 6.
林书豪曾表示他现在还非常清楚地记得初三时每天早上他都会在母亲送他去学校的路上抱怨母亲的身高，吴信信则永远微笑着和他说去怪你爸爸，我不算矮。吴信信的身高有168厘米，作为一个亚裔女性已经远远地超过了平均值，但是很不幸，林书豪的父亲也只有168厘米。
Jeremy Lin later received a lot of help as a softmore fromhis coach Peter Diepenbrock (Coach of Palo Alto Vikings 1997-2008). “The mostdominant conversation we had was him creating for others.” Said Peter, he saidin high school he knew Lin could’ve done well purely based on his talent, and alot of boys at his age cared only about scoring. But thanks to Peter, heconstantly told Jeremy about his role as a creator, and told him that he canreally be the man if he tried. Just like what Peter said, Lin quickly developedinto the Viking’s star in his junior year of high school. However, as his statsgrew, and so did his arrogance. Even though we have to understand the fact thathe was a junior high schooler.
在高一的时候，林书豪获得了他的高中教练彼得·迪耶奔布洛克（帕罗奥图勇士教练，1997-2008）。彼得表示他和林书豪最常见的话题就是反复嘱咐林书豪让他成为一个‘创造者’（指能带动队友发起进攻）。彼得说在高中很多孩子都和林书豪一样可以凭借与生俱来的天赋碾压同龄人，所以他们眼中只有得分。“而我会反复叮咛林书豪，强调他应该成为一个创造者，我想他保证只要他努力，总有一天他会成为这支球队的当家球星。”正如彼得教练的预言，在高二时林书豪就已经成为了帕罗奥图维京人（勇士）的当家球星。他的数据一升再升，但同时提升的，还有他的骄傲和自满。当然，我们也必须理解，毕竟当时他只是个高中二年级的17岁大男孩。
