Fort Bragg Special Mission Unit (SMU) 2015 Assessment and Selection (A&S) Briefing in Okinawa, Japan.
The Department of Defense’s highest priority Special Missions Unit is actively seeking talented Army NCOs and Officers. This SMU is organized to conduct missions requiring both rapid response and surgical application of unique special operations skills. We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2015 Operator Assessment and Selection Course (ASC); as well as applications for Combat Support and Service Support positions. All Army MOS’s are encouraged to apply because of the extremely diverse capabilities and requirements of this unit. Other service members in the USMC, USAF, USN, USCG, are also welcome to attend; however, they are limited to apply in the Operator Assessment and Selection course only. This is open to military service members only.
Interested Army Soldiers (and Sister Service) need to be in the ranks of Sergeant thru Master Sergeant, have at least three years’ time in service, be 22 years of age or older, and have a 110 GT score or higher. Officers must be branch qualified in the ranks of Captain or Major and have completed their O-3 key developmental assignment.
Additionally, Soldiers interested in applying for the Operator ASC will have an opportunity to complete the APFT and IQ test required for their application. The uniform for the APFT is appropriate civilian physical fitness attire. IQ testing will take place after the APFT, and should be complete by 1000 hours. Operator applicants will meet at the location below.
