Hundreds of Westlife fans queued to meet Shane Filan as he signed copies of his new book.
The former boyband star, who is now a solo artist, was at WHSmith in Fosse Park on Friday for the launch of the paperback version of his book, My Side of Life.
Sharon Johnson, book supervisor at the store, said: "It was really great and we had about 250 people, including a lady who had come all the way from Cornwall and another from Yorkshire.
"Some brought along their copies of the book and we sold 115 in store on the day and he chatted with them and had pictures with just about all of them.
"He was a bit late because of the traffic - he was due at 5pm and arrived at 5.30pm - but he stayed until 7pm to meet everyone and it was a really lovely crowd.
"By the time he arrived everyone in the queue was well buoyed up for him."
My Side of Life tells Shane's life story about growing up in Sligo, Ireland, before being discovered by pop mogul Louis Walsh.
Westlife was formed in 1998 and was disbanded in 2012 after hits including Swear It Again, If I Let You Go and Flying Without Wings.
