Crimson Forest Entertainment (CRIM: OTCBB), a global independent motion picture studio, today announced it will produce the science-fiction action thriller "Convergence" starring Paul Wesley .
Wesley's credits include starring in the worldwide hit television drama "The Vampire Diaries," as well as IFC's November release "Before I Disappear" (
SXSW Audience Award Winner), which he also produced, and the upcoming festival favorite, "
Amira and Sam" from Drafthouse Films. He will produce with Adam Schroeder , whose award winning films include "The Truman Show," "Chronicle," and "Sleepy Hollow." Schroeder is currently in pre-production onChris Gorak's "Attach" for Paramount Pictures. Benjamin Tappan will serve as executive producer with Justin Begnaud and Jonathan Lim on board as producers.
In the vein of "Flatliners," "The Matrix," and "Fight Club," "Convergence" follows a group of underground biotechnology engineers, including an MIT student wunderkind, who advances a new technology far beyond expectations and the limits of human control. Production is slated to begin filming in Shanghai
and Atlanta in spring, 2015.

Based on an original screenplay written by Jeff Richard , whose credits include "The Waiting," "Convergence" will be co-produced by China Film Assist (北京金菲林文化艺术有限公司)and Dadi Digital Cinema Ltd.(大地时代文化传播有限公司)
Wesley is represented by ICM Partners and Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Austen, Mandelbaum, Morris & Klein, and Richard is represented by WME.
