Devious Maids is adding a new series regular.
One week after landing a third-season renewal at Lifetime, the primetime soap has promoted Gilles Marini to the main cast, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
In the third season, Marini's character, Sebastien, will have romantic interests with Carmen Luna (Roselyn Sanchez). Marini first appeared as a guest star in the season-two finale.
Creator Marc Cherry will remain at the helm for season three, splitting showrunning duties with executive producers Ric Scwartzlander and Brian Tanen.
Devious Maids centers on a group of maids (Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Sanchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes) who are bonded by their jobs, struggles and employers' "upstairs-downstairs" universe. Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno, Grant Show, Matt Cedeno, Melinda Page Hamilton, Drew Van Acker, Brianna Brown and Brett Cullen co-star.

This will be the first primetime television credit for Owens, who has only otherwise appeared in 2011 short Boys from the Bar and 2013 TV movie The Audition. He’s the second new addition to the third season of Devious Maids, joining Naya Rivera (Glee), who will be playing a new maid in the neighborhood named Blanca. Additionally, this season of Devious Maids will be welcoming back Brianna Brown (General Hospital), as she’ll be reprising her role as Taylor Stappord after being written out for the second season, and promoting Gilles Marini (Switched at Birth) to series regular after recurring during season two.
