Which country has had the longest continuing national identity. For an example, England, as a distinct cultural/ national identity, has been around since the dark ages, but India, in it*s present form, had only been around for 70 years. although France may have been conquered twice in the world wars, and it*s government changed numerous times, the nation still kept it*s language and identity, and around the same land. Unlike Italy, which got it*s modern identity in the 1870*s. I*m not quite sure if I*m making sense.
