Programme Characteristics
PolyU MBA shares a common structure with the programme offered in Hong Kong and it provides a wide range of electives.
The programme has been developing General Managers in Hong Kong since 1990 and in Mainland China since 2002. Its structure, content and teaching approaches have been benchmarked against the best programmes in the world.
The Learning Outcomes for the programme are as follows:
1. Application of Concepts
Graduates should have the analytical ability to select and apply appropriate conceptual frameworks to the resolution of business issues at general management level in the business context in which they are working. Those issues include establishing the scope and direction of the organisation.
2. Critical and Creative Thinking
Graduates should demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively within the domain of general management responsibilities.
3. Effective Communication
Graduates should be able to present reasoned arguments effectively, both verbally and in writing.
4. Interpersonal Skills
Graduates should have the ability and self-knowledge required to work effectively with, and through, others.
5. Leadership and Change Management in the Asian Context
Graduates should have the ability to recognise and respond to the need for change, to initiate change, and to manage it within the Asian context.
6. Global Outlook
Graduates should have the ability to demonstrate a global outlook and an understanding of cultural diversity, as evidenced by an understanding of globalisation, the dimensions along which cultures vary and the implications of both for business.
7. Ethical Thinking
Graduates should be able to identify and resolve ethical issues as they arise in the context of general management and corporate social responsibility.
Our Faculty
With over 200 academic staff and 5,300 students, the Faculty of Business is one of the largest business schools in the Asia-Pacific region. The Faculty is dedicated to the pursuit of IDEAS (Innovation-driven Education and Scholarship) with a 3D focus on Discovery, Design and Delivery.
Triple Accreditation
The Faculty of Business was accredited by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in 2010 in recognition of our business education.
The Faculty was accredited by EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System) in 2007 in recognition of our programmes, research and associated activities.
Our MBA programmes offered in Hong Kong and on the Chinese mainland and EMBA programme offered on the Chinese mainland are AMBA-accredited since 2005.

The Faculty is ranked 68th in the world and 2nd in Hong Kong, according to The UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) Top 100 World Rankings of Business Schools based on Research Contribution 2009-2013.

Admission
Entrance Requirements
The entrance requirements are designed to ensure that each participant has the appropriate academic qualifications and disciplinary preparation, sufficient work experience, and the necessary motivation to benefit from, actively contribute to, and successfully complete the programme.
Applicants should
· Have a Ministry of Education (MoE) recognised bachelor’s degree, a postgraduate degree or a postgraduate diploma in any area, or an equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 4 years’experience in a managerial or professional capacity, and be proficient in English
· In exceptional cases, be aged 35 or over with MoE recognised post-secondary qualifications and at least 8 years of experience in a senior managerial or professional capacity, and be proficient in English
If you are not a native speaker of English, and your Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification was awarded by an institution where the medium of instruction is not English, you are expected to fulfil the following minimum English language requirement:
· A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 for the Internet-based test, 550 for the paper-based test, or 213 for the computer-based test; OR
· An overall Band Score of at least 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR
· Chinese mainland's College English Test (CET) Band 6.
Based on the applications, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interviews. In general, candidates are expected to demonstrate their motivation, their maturity and their ability to communicate in English.

(Early Exit Award: Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PgD BA))
Normal Duration
Normal duration of study for Master of Business Administration and Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration is 2 years (maximum: 4 years) and 1 year (maximum: 4 years) respectively.
Fee
Master of Business Administration (MBA) requires a total of 45 credits. The tuition fee is ¥166,500.

Programme Characteristics
PolyU MBA shares a common structure with the programme offered in Hong Kong and it provides a wide range of electives.
