Personally, I think Haibara and Conan’s relationship is more interesting (it is even now, though there’s no romance between them). True Ai is kind of mean, cold, sarcastic, not exactly a goodey two shoes and such. Those are her flaws, each character needs some of these to make them unique in their own way. She has her strengths as well and her flaws and strengths balance it out. Most can already point out Haiabara’s flaws easily, which is a reassurance that she’s not just some good guy that will fight for justice all the time. She has her fears Vermouth, Gin. It’s also proven to be a major cripple since it shows her reluctance to follow Conan/Shinichi with the BO is involved. Haibara can be disliked for her flaws, but it gives her depth, development, something that makes her interesting.
