Suddenly a woman came in frantic to speak with the man overseeing us in the room. She walked around the room and examined each guy to make sure the outfit was appropriate. Most guys she told to try another shirt. I was just hoping she liked the way I looked. She looked me up and down quickly and said “you look cute.” Relief washed over me making it a great start to my day. She made my friend change his shirt. I could tell he felt a bit uncomfortable with his shirt off in front of everybody. This worried me because I didn’t know exactly what to expect when filming. She told us all to follow her and started jogging out of the building as we all quickly followed. The shooting location was a beautiful building about a block down the road. Not just anybody lived there, only the wealthy could afford luxury like this place. There were two huge white, windowless RV type vehicles parked outside. Both with laminated papers on the door–one saying Ian Gallagher and the other Mickey Milkovich. I was nervous for the first time at that point–it had become real. I told my friend and he gave me a look of “I don’t know if I can do this.” People were watching us and I heard one girl yell: “I want to meet Ian!”
Once the guys and I get to the lobby we go in the elevator that is cramped because there were a lot of us crammed in there. The elevator was silent (I’m guessing because everybody was somewhat nervous) until the woman jokingly said, “I hate Shameless.” Everyone in the elevator chuckled up at that and appeared to relax. When the elevator doors opened at the loft we were shooting at–which was close to the top floor of the building–I could see a table of food with chips, sandwiches, etc. There was even some type of hard mat over the regular carpet over the floor leading up to the loft door–so the crew could bring equipment in quickly. We were instructed to take our coats off in the hallway before we came into the room. I was so anxious at this point–I was the first one in line.
