Of Mice & Men的主唱，Austin Carlile，在2009年离开Attack Attack!(电子核乐队)后，跟小伙伴兼贝斯手Jaxin Hall发起了这只金属核乐队。乐队组合初期，他们录制了 "Seven Thousand Miles For What?"的demo。过后，用了一个月的时间来搜寻其余的成员。他们找到了鼓手Valentino Arteaga，吉他手Jon Kintz和Philip Manansala。

但是没过多久，Jon Kintz就被Shayley Bourget取代了，因为成员们认为Jon “Was partying too much."
2010年3月9号，OM&M正式发行了他们的首张同名专辑，这也是唯一的一张由Jon作为吉他手的专辑。

同在2010年，有心脏病的Austin需要做手术，加上与其他成员产生了分歧，于是选择了暂时离开乐队。这时，Austin的替补，Jerry Roush，便成为了主唱。
在Jerry加入后，Jaxin Hall退出了乐队。理由是想要更投入在自己的衣服品牌Love Before Glory。

2011年1月3号，Jerry离开了。同时Austin Carlile带着一位新的吉他手Alan Ashby回到了乐队中。
2011年中，OM&M陆续发行了单曲 "Still YDG'n"，"Purified" 和专辑 ”The Flood"。
