Claire Danes的采访里也多次提到Carrie在感情上既害怕孤独，但又下意识地排斥发展亲密的私人关系，这一矛盾促使她最终选择了Brody这样一个同样在心理上有重大问题的男人。因为他是一个她“不能真正拥有的男人”，这反而让她“松了一口气”。Claire说她认为Carrie之所以允许自己轻易陷入对Brody的“迷恋”，恰恰是因为这种迷恋不会有最终结果。
