Hi everybody
I'm in Los Angeles right now. I arrived May 15th. The flight was o.k. I took a few sleeping pills to help me get through it but you know it was still a
long tiring journey. I am staying at Nissa's house and that is great. Time passes very quickly with her and we have lots of fun. Clark her baby has
grown and he's doing very well, right now he's learning to walk :-)
May 16th I had the day off but we contacted different clients and photographers because I wanted to fill a few spaces in my schedule. I'm a
hardworking girl you know :-) The first three days I worked for a lingerie catalogue. I was shooting their new collection for this year and also next
season's collection and I'm coming back in October to shoot for them again..I love to work for them. All the people on the shoot are more like one big happy family and the best thing is that if they like a model they stay loyal to her and hire her again and again. Some of the models have worked for them
seven or more years. I hope that one day I will be a best seller too :-)
May 20th I had a few important meetings so I spent all day in town. I was with Nissa and we had a little scare because her car had some problems and I
was afraid that we were going to get stuck on the highway :-(( but in the end everything was o.k.The weekend I have off which is great because I can take a little sun and go shooping, probably we will go to Bombay, my favorite store here in LA :-) I'm happy that I'm out of town and away from all the stress I had in Czech
but you know I still miss my country because my heart is there. I will return May 30th but I'll try to update My Diary section once more before I
come home to let you all know how I'm doing.

May 23rd, I visited Catalina Island
May 23rd, I visited Catalina Island. It was not so far away from Los Angeles and I was very surprised at how beautiful it was there.
I arrived with Nissa around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I had a very important meeting with one client. It was a client from a fashion catalogue and they were very interested to have a personal meeting with me.
The whole team put up at the beautiful Hotel Avalon, and I was able to spend a couple of hours there with Nissa.
I did a few test-shot Polaroids, just to let the client know how I looked for real. Most important, the photographers got a chance to look at me and see how I moved in front of the camera, etc. They liked me, so I hope that they will hire me very soon. They are located in Miami, but every time they shoot, it's someplace different, so it will be very interesting to work for them.
I will be back in Los Angeles in the middle of July, so I hope that they will shoot me next time, but we'll see. I don't want to speak too soon.
Nissa and I were so happy that we could take a whole day on Catalina Island together to just nap and take a small tour of the island. Then we took a few pictures and did some small videos just for fun. :-)) The whole day was lucky, because when we got back, the traffic wasn't so bad :-) and we got home real soon. I HATE L.A. traffic!!! If you have never been to L A, you can never believe how horrible the traffic there is! :-) I was happy because I had a shoot the next day and had to go to bed very early.
May 27th was the most important day for me in my career!
A few days before, my agent sent my pictures to PLAYBOY. She was sure I couln't be a Playmate because I did work for their competitors before. But she was interested to offer me for some of their Newstand Specials, like Book of Lingerie and Cybergirls, etc.
Here's what happened :-). They sent my pictures directly to editor Steven Wayda. So we made an appointment with him and the editor-in-chief. He was so nice. I liked him a lot. He tested me with just a few Polaroids and then I was doing a real test with him.
On the day before the test shoot, I spent a night at the Playboy Mansion. I arrived there after my shoot for the lingerie company, and I did not see a lot because it was night. When we parked the car, two bodyguards came and escorted us to the mansion.
They gave me a small tour of the mansion and showed me my room.
I spoke personally to Mr. Hugh Hefner and it was great to meet him. I was invited to dinner with him and a few models, but I had to rebuff this offer because my wake-up call the following morning was very early, so I had to stay in my room and sleep.
The shooting with Steven Wayda was great and we took some great pictures. He is a great photographer. He liked me a lot and they had big plans for me. They said they were interested in choosing me Playmate of the Year, and they told me that they had not found someone like me in a long time. I was so surprised.
But, then, this happened:
After the shooting they gave me some paper work and they asked me a lot of questions, like whom did I shoot with before, had I done nude shootings, if yes, for what magazines, etc.
So, I did not lie to them. I told them the truth. I was Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2001. Nobody asked me before, so I thought it was not a big deal. But, finally, it was. :-(
Right now, I understand the strategy of this magazine, and I totally accept it. The Chief Editor explained all the details to my agent and me, and she was completely right. There was not a chance to use me because they would promote me as Playmate of the Month, and then, after that as Playmate of the Year. Then, after publication, all magazines and all photographers that I worked for before would promote my pictures, print new magazine covers with my old photos, etc. So, they could not imagine how many old magazines and photographers would be willing to exploit me again and again. :-(( I had to agree. Especially since I've been in the business for 10 years and have done lots of work. Everybody was very sad they could not choose me, because they like me a lot and had really big plans for me. This day, I was a little heartbroken, but right now I am OK :-) . I am happy that my shoot with Steven was not a loss. It was important to show him what working with me was like, and he loved it, and told me that he is totally looking forward to working with me in the future. :-) He is shooting some lingerie and bikini catalogues, so I think that this experience was great, and I hope to work with Steven very soon. He knows that I will be in town again in the middle of July.
