Hearthstone not strategy Game, bad Beta . . .
When I installed the beta game, a popup up informed me about Blizzard "loving to hear" from us a feedback, or something like that... So, here I am, and providing a little feedback.
Little intro about "myself" in game: I am a mature person by age, and by behaviour. Old school in everything, from manners to polite behaviour appreciation. that, today cannot be found anymore in WoW (in real world as well, new generations and main stream junk made them that way... could elaborate more, but it's another topic...). Anyway, I played this game for 7 years (would play before but 4 months from October 2005 to February 2006 there wasn't enough copies of WoW to be sold so Blizzard needed to produce them for new players, but had played beside my friend on his account trough 2004 and 2005 :-) ). Why I am making here all these facts? Because to say that I am someone who witnessed from first hand Your grow, development, Your games (from Warcraft before WoW, etc..), and MOSTLY IMPORTANT: I AM FAMILIAR WITH YOUR GAMES. Now, I strongly believe that it gives me right to comment, in good faith, what I have witnessed and experienced in HEARTHSTONE BETA.
Let's start. I will make a number of issue, and after that the concerning issue:
1. Beta is making You (a player) pay 100 gold (or 1,67 euro, later almost 3 , 20 , 44 , for DECKS!!!), to purchase a deck of cards with five cards, where 1 card at least is a rare quality, or best. You said in a kind of disclaimer that You would appreciate anyone who has played any money. I believe you that :-) .Now, if you wanted a true beta testing, if You wanted a real test from players, a real feedback from data gathered by games played (or other possible ways of data mining...), You just could give people all the cards, including legendary, at their disposal to TEST THE GAME before release. But, no, You looked to earn money even in Beta testing?! Are You so poor (Blizzard) that You cannot afford Yourself a deck purchase without real money or a loot of grinding (playing against real opponents in "Play" mode) or some quests amount ( 40 gold per quest, max daily! - need 100 gold for 1 deck!!!). I know there is a lot of enthusiasm around there, I know there are a lot "freaks woona-be first to see new content", but just THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO PROPERLY TEST BETA RELEASE! I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS IN ANY BETA TEST PRODUCT TILL NOW, ONLY YOURS! Which is a SHAME for You! Furthermore, someone would "kill" for a beta key, yes there are people - young ignorant with no RL obligations and frustration, although not more than normal persons. those people will not be Your main player base! A card game, nevertheless is it based on fictional character themed game, or a real deck of playing cards, is still a CARD GAME! THAT MEANS IT IS POSSIBLY INTERESTING TO EVERYONE - REGARDLESS OF AGE! In the start You made a game: NO SKILL REQUIRED IF YOU HAVE A DEEP WALLET, WITH DEEP WALLET YOU BUY AS MANY DECK, WITH AS MANY DECKS BOUGHT YOU GET MORE CHANCES FOR A RARE OR PATHETICALLY LOW DROP RATE ON AN EPIC CARD, AND WHEN YOU FINALLY GET ENOUGH EPICLY-USEFULL CARDS, YOU BUILD AN INVINCIBLE DECK, AND YOU CAN BEAT THE HELL ON ANYONE WHO HAS TACTICS AND KNOWLEDGE - EVEN MORE LUCK IN A PARTICULAR GAME!, ONLY, AND EXCLUSIVELY ONLY, BY THE POWER OF YOUR DECK (MONEY, BUYING, AND GREATER PROBABILITY TO BUILD A GOOD DECK!)

Have read that the game base has almost halved from its peak in WoW (6,7 million if I do not get wrong... more or less :-) ). Making this game as free as possible, someone will interest in WoW, than that guy starts buying games/expansion's/monthly subscriptions, than you profit by free hearthstone in WoW as well, by its Lore presented in cards... Gillett when made a razor, he gave them freely, and then he make people pay for fillings/blades, production specialized made by him... Think about it ... really is not in dollars and cents... or You will potentially lose more dollars and cents. I know who Your major stakeholders are, I know the battle You are doing past moths, but too little, too late could be in few years of business. (Forward this topic, mine, to some deciding manager, he couldn't find it untrue, hardly...) I uninstalled my Hearthstone last night after being superior in tactics, and even luck few times, and still lost game due to overpowered decks build by my opponents, twice a row in certain level... If You want, and it is more than possible, that all generations - to and including middle age, play Your game, make it more tactic/strategy dependant, some luck, and no money power at all !!! In wow you can buy only cosmetic items, here You "buy" probability, and with probability eventually it comes a "killer deck" = worthless game. BTW, I am working man, in senior business layer, and money is not at all an issue to me, but the principle, common sense and quality is what is here on "floor"!
2. A card that steal's two card from deck and copy them in opponents hand? Are You kidding me? Then You should resign a game even before starting. badly thought, low mana requirement. Not to say there are absurd situations, where some classes gain ridiculous items. Ex. yesterday a guy took my summoning portal card?! Even though he is not a lock? What Lore is applicable there? No one right :-) .
3. The card something like "deal +4 damage to ALL minions with mana requirements so low", or a card "do 2 damage to ALL minions"? caman people You are using the point of stealthy minion-card, losing a point on a little damaged Legendary/Epic card? Not to mention that it's a game changer, that no strategy can predict it's consequences, regarding the situation, maker or breaker... ! Does one, small card , with such a low mana req. can have such a power? I think not = unbalanced game.
4. Copy a minion? that card exists, with no class/cost in health attack power requirements? Imagine a paladin with a minion such as Infernal? LOL ... Yep, just holy as it can a pala be. :-) Guys, it is more than obvious that all, or almost all, people who made/developed WoW (Vanilla) haven't done this game. Now, how can I see that, and I even don't know Your human resource plans, actions, etc... ? You don't need to answer to me (unfortunately, I do not expect it...), but answer to Yourself, when You are alone, is this guy-me, right?
5. Player time for play is TOO BIG AT START, AND EVEN LATER, SHOULD BE: GAME TIME FOR A MOVE, ADJUSTABLE IN REGARD OF NUMBER OF CARDS, MINIONS ON BOARD, MANA CRYSTAL, ETC.. ITS JUST A PONDERING- POINTS=TIME FORMULA IN A GAME CODE... C'MON ...!
6. Make more emotes, eventually a live chat (could be a way people piss each other off, and make them harder to play...), so from this one, the 6. paragraph it's only an idea/suggestion, You decide...
7. Why, for the good sake, for purpose of testing, like in WoW You haven't capped all players with ALL cards for their deck, with small restrictions as number of max. legendary, max. epic cards, max. rare cards, etc ... ? Instead, You make us grind for cards, and when we chase grinding We cannot concentrate on a gameplay unbalance's!
8. Make an option to change in Hearthstone a real ID, or give a chance to change it in Account management, more than twice...
9. Golden Cards should be more easily-faster obtainable, not only levelling up, because it's only a cosmetically improved design (there is no health-armour-mana benefits...), in my knowledge.
10. Levelling should be a faster peace, to many won matches for too little XP.
BTW, I will not buy this Draenor expansion announced on Blizzcon, even though I have all the previous hard copy standard editions. What is the reason? Well, there are few interesting thing implemented, I must agree, but: the reforging abortion of live Panda experiment, the removal (speaking from Vanilla to now...) of resilience, than no resilience no armour, then again ok armour, no intellect only spirit for priests, then no more soul shards, but there are combos... C'MON PEOPLE, I EVEN DON'T RECOGNIZE A LOCK FEATURES FROM VANILLA, AND THAT WAS THE REASON I CHASED TO PLAY A LOCK! OTHER WAY WOULD CHOSE A ROUGE (COMBO :-) ) TO PLAY FROM START... Just, You have gone too much from origins, not good... = player base dropping... fast ...
Wish You all the best, hope You will correct these, in my humble opinion, errors and serious flaws, and be a voice of reason, as You once were...
