“Working hard on the next project. Things are starting to move quickly!!” the singer posted on his Facebook page. “In the studio cutting the first song for the sophomore album!! 1 song down & 10 more songs to go!!”
Later, Gokey added, “Finished up in the studio and now off to catch a plane. Going back in the studio next week to start cutting the next songs for the album.”

Gokey and his second wife, Leyicet, who wed in January of 2012, work together on Sophia’s Heart. “Our vision at Sophia’s Heart includes programs to house and restore the lives of the economically challenged and families that have been displaced from their homes due to unfortunate circumstances,” he tells The Boot. “This might include children and families who have been touched by poverty, sickness, disease, broken families and broken dreams … We want to give people hope when they come to be here with us.”

Gokey will also release his first book, ‘Hope in Front of Me: Find Purpose in Your Darkest Moments’ on Oct. 1. The biography details the highs and lows of both his personal and professional life, and offers encouragement and advice for others facing challenging circumstances. Pre-order a copy here.
