Like the cast of The Vampire Diaries, the cast of The Originals was kept very busy at Comic-Con with interviews such as this one for TVLine, hosted by Megan Masters. Although Joseph Morgan(Klaus) was absent, Claire Holt (Rebekah), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), Daniel Gillies (Elijah), andCharles Michael Davis (Marcel) were there to answer questions about the show.

Claire started off by saying they’re really happy that the fans have been so supportive. Charles mentioned that the show was 10 times sexier than The Vampire Diaries, and Daniel revealed that there will be a lot of strategic warfare. With the jostling of power he feels the show will be a fanged version of “The Sopranos”! “The Sopvampros”!

Since Rebekah originally didn’t want to come to New Orleans with her brothers, Claire revealed that Rebekah always valued her family, even Klaus, so there was never really a doubt about her following them because of the strong family unit they always had. She loves Elijah and values their relationship, so she follows him.

When the question of Claire and Phoebe working together came up they both agreed they thought it would be a natural progression of the relationship between Rebekah and Hayley and they looked really excited about it.

Charles revealed that the relationship between Marcel and Klaus will continue to blossom and progress, and have a brotherly-type of relationship, with both the good and the bad eventually coming out.

Daniel said he’s excited to be part of the nucleus of a new show, with all it’s infrastructure. It will be balancing the malevolence of Klaus and positioning his family to take back their town. He wants his family back and he wants his kingdom and he wants his brother to sit on the thrown, even though Klaus keeps trying to smash him down.

Megan couldn’t let them leave without bringing up the baby storyline. They didn’t have any spoilers about it, but Phoebe said she thought it was a very real situation in extreme circumstances. A really cool twist in a story that has big, supernatural elements, so it will help bring things back to a bit of reality.
