Toni Braxton isn’t ready to put the mic down just yet. After declaring retirement, it seems that the 45-year-old songstress is headed back to the studio.
Braxton recently revealed that she will be working on a new project with close friend/ collaborator Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Though the two haven’t completed any recordings, they have already shot promotional cuts for their album. “The whole perspective is guy and girl, Mars vs. Venus. Even if you’re in love, you’re in love for different reasons,” Babyface recently told the Rap-Up on the current direction of the album.
After staying in the public eye with the reality show Braxton Family Values, the "Unbreak My Heart" singer hasn't completely closed the door on a possible comeback. “I’m kinda still on the done with music side, but we’ll see,” said Braxton.
Some serious chemistry should be expected on their next development, especially given their hit-making history on Toni's previous albums Toni Braxton, Secrets and The Heat. “I think because Babyface and I have both gone through divorces, we can relate and we can collaborate together on this topic and make it so others who have gone through this situation can relate,” Toni said.
Expect the musical reunion to drop before the year is through. “September 2013 @KennyEdmonds @Motown,” she tweeted.
