It may not be the Red Wedding, but the atmosphere will be just as cutthroat when Game of Thrones’ Michelle Fairley joins the third season of USA’s Suits in a recurring role starting July 16. She plays Ava Hessington, a U.K. oil company bigwig facing bribery charges.
“We’re huge Game of Thrones fans — we talk about it, we watch it, we love it,” raves executive producer Aaron Korsh, who was thrilled to land the late Lady Stark. “Michelle has a steel and a vulnerability in her that lets us question if she is behind what she is being accused of or not.”
And just in case Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) can’t provide enough legal aid, the enigmatic Ava has another ally in her corner: the firm’s new British partner, who has a past with her character — and who just so happens to be played by Fairley’s Thrones costar Conleth Hill (Lord Varys). Game on!
