Here it is!! After a couple of months of putting this all together, we are ready to share the brand new video for Brave. (eek!)
I am so proud of this video and the collaboration that created it, as it is the brainchild and directorial debut of one miss Rashida Jones. (yup, THAT Rashida Jones)
I totally fell in love with her vision and grace as a director, and it was such a pleasure to work with such an intelligent, funny, charismatic and charming woman. I'm used to being the only one in the room like that. ;) (kidding....sheesh) She really is a spectacular human. Wow.
Being brave is a concept I have now spent a lot of time reflecting on and I have come to understand is not always easy, or even well-received. It can be messy and painful, confronting and complicated. But I have also learned that encouraging yourself to make brave choices is some of the most important work I believe we can do. Inch by inch. Bit by bit, it gets easier.
I am so inspired by the bravery I have seen among my fans in response to this song already. I am humbled and overwhelmed. Thank you.
Although the message of the song is anchored in a deep place, Rashida and I also wanted to convey the levity and brightness that one can feel by simply letting go.
We all had to be really brave to step up for this, and I am so very grateful proud to present to you our little troop of bravehearts...
