Jim [Mass Passmore] teases Callie [Kiele Sanchez] about reading Florida Bride Magazine. He didn't think she was that kind of girly girl.

Callie takes Jim's good-natured ribbing, and tells him she has her eye on a $2,000 wedding dress. Although he offers to pay for it, Callie says she's applying for an orthopedic fellowship at the hospital to earn the extra money to buy it herself.

Dr. Hardy [Ed Asner], a legendary doctor in the world of sports medicine, barely interviews Callie when he meets her.

Hardy gives Callie the job, starting immediately. Her first task is to organize 10 years' worth of patient files, but he doesn't give her any instructions on how he'd like them organized — by patient, age, outcome, or something else. Hardy tells Callie to just "figure it out."

Callie organizes the files by procedure, since that's what Hardy wants to compare in his study. But Hardy says that he doesn't want to compare procedures of a 20-year-old and a 60-year-old and asks Callie if she got her degree from a cereal box.

Jim wants to go over wedding dates with Callie, but she wants to read over one of Dr. Hardy's academic papers. She agreed to go work for the grumpy doctor again after he apologized for his behavior and asked her to come back.

Jim was hoping for a little family time, but he's forced to eat alone after Jeff and Callie leave to attend to other things.

The bruised victim, Diana Cabrera, is found dead inside a bank vault. She was a loan officer who had recently been promoted to VP.

Manus [Michelle Hurd] tells Jim [Matt Passmore] that she left a message for the owner of the safe deposit box that Diana was in the process of opening before she died so they can get permission to see its contents.

After Jim witnesses Randy Dillard, one of Diana's colleagues, going through her desk, he asks the loan officer about his relationship with her. The two were an item, but had to keep it low key at work.

Jim initially suspects that Randy, who has a bruise on his face, was beating Diana, but after spotting a photo of the victim in a roller derby outfit, he knows the bruises on her body likely came from participating in the rough sport. She was the star jammer on the team the Glade-iators.

Darius Locke [Rick Fox], a professional basketball player, is one of Callie's patients, whom she treated with a cortisone shot in Dr. Hardy's absence.

Callie [Kiele Sanchez] is angry that Darius told his team doctor not to talk to her.
