第一篇Losing Control 简介:Tamsin wakes from a nightmare, beginning to struggle more and more with her ability to resist her mark. Bo/Tamsin. Valkubus. One Shot.
I wake up shaking, sweat beading up on my skin and soaking into my clothes, a scream only just captured in the back of my throat and I quickly move to turn the lamp on because that shit was scary. I can think it in my own head, there's nothing wrong with that. It's not some recurring dream from my childhood or some lame ass Under Fea chasing me that's getting to me, it's… just me. Dragging myself out of bed I head for the bathroom, stripping my shirt away from my sticky body as I go. I'm disgusting. A shower would be nice but the landlord in this hell hole has yet to fix the hot water and there is no way I'm standing under an ice cold spray at two am. I would like to track the dude down, teach him a lesson for slacking on his business but that is apparently against the rules. That's what I get for working with the Light, heeding their rules is a pain in my ass. Whatever, I'll take my nice ice bath in the morning. At least on Dark jobs the pay was good, this is some shitty deal. I'm trying to splash my face to clear my head, the cold water is at least good for something, but I'm avoiding my own eyes in the mirror. For a moment I consider turning the light off but that seems a bit extreme, I'm ashamed but not a coward. But now that I've thought it I have to prove that to myself. With my shoulders squared and my lungs filled with air, I lift my chin, bringing my eyes up to meet my reflection only to exhale loudly, letting my shoulders drop in defeat. Two seconds flat and I'm done in. I look as terrible as I feel, dark circles under my eyes, visibly clammy skin, the color in my eyes are a few shades darker than they should be and to top it all off as I lift my fingers up to right my very out of place and messy hair a few strands fall into my palm. It's getting worse. I've never had to resist like this before. I've never had to resist period. It's not natural, not right but then again no other case has been so personal before. I've never loved a target. I scoff at that, letting myself think those words. Foolish. Love is for the weak and besides I'm not in it anyway, I can't be not just because Bo is marked but because I'm just not. I'll work on a better excuse later. There's a flicker of change in my eyes and I lean in to look closer only finding that the further I examine myself the more my stomach turns with this uneasiness, this feeling like I'm doing something wrong, that I've missed something. Doubt. Great, now I'm turning on myself. I rip my gaze away quickly and spin around but I must be moving too fast because suddenly I'm dizzy and I'm gripping at the sink to keep myself upright. I'm blinking heavily and that's a mistake because soon my eyes drop closed tighter than I mean them to and I'm assaulted with visions of her beneath me. It's abstract and a little off but I can practically feel her under me, her hands running seductively along my sides. I can feel her power pulsing through her palms, heating my skin like poison. It's intoxicating. I want to lean down and capture her lips, to press myself into her further and I think I'm going to but when my body shifts forward, pinning her hips down between my thighs, I'm grabbing at her wrists roughly and tugging them above her head. Finally getting my eyes open, forcing my mind back into my bathroom instead of whatever the hell is going on in my head, I push off the sink making myself stumble into the door frame. I need to get myself together but moments later just as I'm making it back to bed, I'm falling to my knees. I have just enough time to grab the bedpost to keep myself from wiping out completely as I'm dragged back into it. She smells so good, the colors in my vision mixing up with the scent in the air and I'm blinded. I only see one thing and that is my purpose, my reason for being and every inch of my body aches with resistance. Bo looks absolutely terrified, an expression I'm not sure the famed unaligned succubus knows how to make but it's not an expression that is not unfamiliar to me. That's the face they all make. When my mark realizes they are trapped, when I can feel my own face shifting into something dark and unnatural. She's fighting against me, pushing at my unmoving body but I'm stronger, I can see the surprise of that fact etched into her features along with her terror and even as I'm speaking the words "I'm sorry." There is an animalistic growl rolling up my throat because as much as I want to I can't stop this. Somehow pulling my consciousness back enough, I reach frantically into my already messed hair and rip a few strands from their roots, releasing
me from the over powering dream, or vision, or whatever it is. The point is I can breathe now and yes I still need a God damn shower because I'm practically dripping. At this rate I'm going to go bald within the month, if I last that long but I stop that thought right in its tracks, finding my strength to pull myself to my feet. Giving in is not an option, I'm not doing that. I'm only up long enough to drop myself back into bed, reaching for my phone on the side table. I need to take a few breaths first and calm down because that was intense, for multiple reasons. I won't admit to her being on speed dial but it doesn't take me long to get the call connected, though it takes what feels like a dozen rings before she answers. "Hello?" Bo's voice is raspy and heavy with sleep. I'm such a pushover because I actually let myself smile like this is a normal thing. It isn't. "Are you home?" Back to business, short and direct. That's how I have to be. "Tamsin?" Her confusion rings clearly in my name but that doesn't stop the stirring it creates in me. "Are you home?" I say it slower this time, accenting each word in a way that feigns annoyance. Maybe I am annoyed; I'm the one that's got to deal with these Valkyrie sized hot flashes to keep from jumping her bones. Well not 'jumping her bones', okay maybe a little of that but fuck, she is a Succubus. "I…yes. No, no… I'm at Lauren's. Why?" Lauren, of course. I will never understand how any Fae could see something in a human, they are fragile and week and they expire. What is the point? "Tamsin, it is after two in the morning why are you calling me in the middle of the night?" I must have been taking too long to respond because its sounds like Bo is waking up more and she starting to sound pissed. I called to check on her but I probably shouldn't say that. I need an excuse. "What about your gothy human thing?" It's just easier to be a bitch. "Kenzi is out of town, she's spending time with her cousin or something. Things have been hard on her since, you know…" "Okay good, so no one is at your fancy club house then?" I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this but I'm sure it'll come to me soon. "Yeah… but that doesn't explain why you are calling." "Can't you just trust a good cop?" Now I'm getting annoyed. "Sure, I can. So when Dyson calls I'll be sure to trust him. You are Dark Fae" Ouch. I'm quiet for a minute, staring up at my disgustingly stained ceiling. Like seriously, who did the piping in this place, that is horrendous. "Wait, Tams… I'm sorry." Bo starts, the shift in her tone very clear. I hate how much I like it and 'Tams' really? Bitch. "You've proven yourself, that was uncalled for." "Yeah, you're kind of a bitch at two am." "Okay well you are a bitch all the time, so sue me." I have to fight the way that makes me want to laugh but I can't keep from smiling and I grip the sheets tightly with my free hand trying to ignore that feeling settling somewhere beneath my lungs. This is so fucked up. "Hey…" Her voice comes softer on the other end and it sounds like she's moving, maybe shifting from the bed she is in. "Are you alright?" "I'm fine." I spit too quickly and too full of venom that is not meant for her. Sighing, I collect myself before speaking again. "There are some rouge Under Fae on the loose of the ratty stupid variety and your poor excuse for a shack wouldn't hold up a second if they sniffed you out." The lie comes easier than I could have planned but I'm grateful. "So you were worried about me?" It sounds like she is teasing me, is she teasing me? "No… I'm doing my job. Dim witted Fae on the prowl and the first stop is the unaligned, unprotected, always on the menu Succubi." That sounded convincing, patting myself on the back for that one. "It sounds a lot like I'm protected to me." She's definitely teasing me. "Okay whatever, I was just checking. Have a good night with your inedible snack." I tap the screen to end the call before either of us can say anything else, wondering why I even called in the first place. I know why but I'm not about to let myself admit it, I can't. Things are complicated enough I really do not need this stress. But my mind is reeling and before I know it I'm picking my phone back up, dialing out again. There is a shorter amount of rings this time but when he answers I don't give him a chance to speak. "Trick…" I say quickly, surprised with how tight my throat feels and how thickly the word fell. I take a moment to draw in a breath, I'm being ridiculous. "Trick, you've got to keep me away from Bo." Swallowing hard against a rising lump I pause again, cursing myself for sounding so vulnerable. I hate myself for this, I hate what I am, and I hate my purpose. I'm disgusted with it but mostly I'm just disgusted with myself because I hate that I fell for her. I hate that I love her but not as much as I hate that all of this is tainting that, because loving Bo could have been the best thing I'd ever done. "I'm losing control."
第一章 The vault rolled and clicked to a close. Tamsin sealed the portal behind her, slipped the dagger in her vest holster and zipped up. The weapon was thought to be a myth. She had kept it that way successfully for centuries but there was no telling when shit would fly. They needed all the help they could get and this little thing was a massive help on it's own. She made her way out of the maze of the shipping containers. Hopefully no one would still be up at this hour. She slipped out the gate and turned around the corner to find three humans loitering around her car. "You lost, baby?" Tamsin rolled her eyes. Of course there had to be people around when she needed to be stealth. Humans were irritating but at least they weren't fae and wouldn't recognize the dagger. "Step away from the vehicle and no one gets hurt." " Aw don't be like that. I could show you around. Come on, let me give you a ride.. it'll be the best night of your life.." The most boisterous one got up from his seat on the hood while his goons chuckled. He resembled a rat, narrow eyes with a sharp nose. His pear shaped body was emphasized by his baggy jeans. A grin expanded across his face. He stood in front of her door. Tamsin was a good deal taller than him, and she smirked. She sneered, "Sweetie...First of all you're not tall enough to ride this ride and you can't even navigate your eyes to point in the same direction. So.. how about I show you to an optometrist and that'll make it the best night of your life?" His eyes narrowed while his friends feigned terror and made their way to join him. "You're a smart ass." He scoffed and stepped forward. "My ass is inanimate, my brain is smart. Now Scram." It was tempting to let her face blacken and see him crumple but she knew she needed to save her strength. "You're asking for it," He grinned and reached for her. Fuck this. She thrust her palm up at his chin, snapping his head backwards. He lost his footing and hit the concrete with a resounding smack. She spat back, "You asked for it." The other two lunged at her. She seized one of them by his shirt and decked him in the jaw before shoving his head hard in to the fence post. She caught the other in the chest with kick. As soon as they were on the ground, the first guy grabbed her ankle. She didn't want to use her powers but time was of the essence. The longer the weapon was out of hiding, the more danger it was of being found. She seized him by his shirt and forced him to face her. Her face drained of colour, blackening at the sides. Her eyes became hollow and pierced in to him. "Whaaat..Who are you?!" His eyes expanded and jaw locked. He was unable to scream before he slumped over, eyes bulged open and stunned. "The law, asshole." Tamsin shoved him aside, got in her car and roared away. The rat would survive, but unlike Dyson he would never regain his memory or fully recover.
第二章 Bo faced herself in the mirror. She focused, and her eyes flashed blue for a second. Taking a breath, she tried again. This time they stayed blue for longer. Bo had been doing this for weeks and was able to bring herself in and out of the state and sustain control for a short period of time. It depleted her energy, but if it meant having command over herself in case she morphed in to her blue-eyed state again it was worth it. As far as everyone else knew, her feeds and the injections were adequate for now. A knock jerked her out of her trance. She peered out the window and saw Tamsin's car. Bo slipped on a robe over her tank, hurried downstairs and swung the door open. "Couldn't you try and cuff me in the morning?" A twinge of mixed jealousy and admiration hit Tamsin. Even late in to the evening, the succubus still managed to look stunning. Tamsin brushed past her and said, "I come bearing gifts but if you want the cuffs instead..it's your call." Tamsin unwrapped the blade and set it on the kitchen table. "Ooo. Shiny." Bo heaved down on a seat and picked it up, examining the gleaming jewel encrusted hilt. It looked heavy but it was light as a feather. She tried to take it out of its sheath but Tamsin stopped her, "It only opens if you're in battle and the owner has to be driven by a worthy, noble cause. It will shape itself to the warrior's needs. It's a last resort weapon. Look, I wasn't here, I never gave anything to you and no one can know you have it. As far as the world knows it doesn't exist so keep it that way. If you don't, it's your ass and my ass on the line and I happen to like my ass so if you don't mind- be careful." It was probably her hunger affecting her thought process but Bo was also a fan of her ass. She knew better than to mention it. Instead she asked, "Okay.. Why don't you keep it? Why give it to me?" Tamsin wanted to shake her. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked back at Bo. No one made her blood boil faster than the succubus. She had a way of batting those warm brown lashes and asking the silly questions but instead of coming off as stupid, she was charming. Tamsin realized she was staring at Bo's' mouth. She snapped out of it before she got caught and went back to her default cool demeanour. The last thing she needed was to get side tracked. Tamsin shifted her weight and put her hands on her hips. "You'll need it more than I will." She mumbled and faced the floor. "Hey…" Bo reached out, tagging Tamsin's forearm. If it was anyone else with their hand on her, they would have lost their fingers by now. Bo had a genuine, caring touch, one that felt foreign to Tamsin. Bo awkwardly withdrew her hand. "Thank you, Tamsin. It.. was very thoughtful of you." The Valkyrie couldn't help but let a smile play at her lips. "Don't mention it." She replied. Bo nodded, and flashed her sideways grin. "Seriously, don't ever mention it to anyone." Bo exaggerated her nod. "Asses on the line. Mi Ass-ah is Su Ass-a." Tamsin checked her phone. There was nothing to see, no messages, but she had to find something distract herself with. She didn't want to leave just yet. It was rather nice to have company but she was terrible with casual friendly conversation. She decided to look busy and rearrange her apps until she found the words to continue on. Tamsin's guarded nature was something Bo was familiar with herself. She spent years keeping people at a distance for their own protection. She had become accustomed to the Valkyrie's acerbic wit and was beginning to enjoy it. She never thought she'd get a kick out of having disagreements every three minutes- but with Tamsin.. it was kind of fun. Bo admired her unfiltered, unapologetic manner. She hadn't been blind to the Valkyrie's stunning features either. Her hair framed her face perfectly and was swept to one side. It cascaded down her neck, shoulders and chest. Collar bones peeked out, prominent and strong, and Bo could see the faint outline of abs through her shirt. Tamsin could feel Bo's eyes on her but she didn't want to embarrass her. She liked the compliment. What a difference. She could have cared less about Bo when she first met her. She racked her brain as to what she should say and swept another app across her screen. Bo tore her gaze from Tamsin's body, quickly slid off the bar stool and opened the fridge. Bo said a little too loudly, "SO!"
Tamsin jumped slightly and looked at her quizzically. "…Drink? Snack? Snack made in to a drink?" Bo sputtered. Bo always tried not to look directly at the Valkyrie or if she had to she wouldn't allow herself to look for very long. It would only weird Tamsin out and make Bo even hungrier. The Valkyrie motioned a yes with a wave of her hand and took Bo's seat. She saw Bo staring hard at the ground and couldn't resist teasing her. Tamsin smirked off-handed, "Make it dirty." Bo nearly dropped the glasses. She turned abruptly, facing away from Tamsin. Bo's eyes widened and her eyebrows shot up to the ceiling. She could feel her ravenous appetite pulsing. Bo gritted her teeth and tried not to think about Tamsin's chi. It was more exhilarating than anything she had ever tasted. That kiss in the woods sustained her for weeks but Tamsin was no buffet and Bo's chances of getting a dinner ticket was about as likely as Kenzie wearing sensible shoes.
第三篇Can't a girl have a peaceful vodka lunch? 简介:Tamsin is trying to spend her lunch break alone in the Dal, but unfortunately Bo and the Fae world has other plans. Leads to some Valkubus, blood and healing.
Tamsin sat alone at the bar of the Dal cradling a tumbler of vodka and ice. It was rare to see anyone else in here at noon and this suited her fine. She liked to spend her lunch breaks alone, preferably with alcohol. A racket broke the silence as the door was thrust open with a clattering noise. Tamsin looked to the doorway irritated and offended by whoever would ruin her lunch. This was until she took in the sight of Bo covered in blood, desperately clinging to the door for support. "Trick! We have a problem!" The blonde called out, her eyes still fixed on Bo. Bo attempted to stagger forward, collapsing into the Valkyries arms as Tamsin rushed forward to catch her. "What the hell happened to you?" The only time she ever saw people this butchered was on the battlefield and then she was usually on route to take them to Valhalla. Bo's skin was patterned with rows of incisions and puncture wounds, Tamsin knew only one Fae whose work looked like this. An underfae species called the Razorfen that kills its victims by trapping them in an enclosed space before releasing hundreds of surgically sharp spines to slice the flesh of their victims. They kill by repeating this process until the target bleeds to death which, for a lot of more resilient Fae, can be a long and torturous demise. Trick rushed in to be met with the sight of his granddaughter spluttering blood out onto the floor. "Bo what happened?" the older man rushed forward reaching out. "Don't touch her!" Tamsin snapped. Tamsin was growing rapidly protective of the brunette. "Take her downstairs. I'll call Dyson, she needs to heal quickly or she's going to bleed out." Trick murmured concerned by the Valkyries tone. "No it can't be him. Someone else. It has to be someone else" Bo pleaded in a raspy voice, the first sounds she had made since entering the bar. "I'll take care of it" tamsin interjected, her face steeled. "You really think you can overcome your instincts and save her?" Trick was obviously concerned leaving his only blood relative with a Valkyrie, especially with such grave injuries. "I'm not going to kill her Trick!" Tamsin was audibly offended by the implication; she carefully pulled the succubus' body closer to hers. "You're a Valkyrie; it's in your nature." It was true; it is the duty of a Valkyrie to take dying heroes from the battlefield to Valhalla but Tamsin had no desire to lose being able to see Bo every day. "I trust her trick." Bo said flatly, she didn't have any energy to argue with her Grandfather. Bo's ability to stand was failing so Tamsin scooped her up in to her deceptively strong arms and carried her downstairs. She knew she could let Bo feed without losing control. She could never hurt the succubus, not anymore. She placed her gently on a makeshift hospital bed. She could feel the shadows creeping into her face at the sight before her. The blood seeped and congealed. It was starting to dry and flake in some places. Bo's eyes lolled back in her sunken eye sockets. "Please don't give up on me here hot pants." This time with a much gentler tone than the blonde usually used. Tamsin pressed her mouth desperately to the succubus' hoping that she would start to feel that familiar draining sensation clawing at her very core. Still she waited until she felt a bloodied hand snake up into her hair. Usually she'd be mighty pissed at anyone who dared get blood all over her, especially in her hair, but this time it came as a relief as the cool feeling spread throughout her body. She opened her eyes briefly to see the spectral blue orbs piercing back at her. As Bo's wounds began to close the succubus pulled her closer leaning up into the kiss, her hands wandering down Tamsin's back pulling their bodies flush together. The blood that coated Bo's skin was smearing over the Valkyrie; her skin covered in gory handprints. Tamsin felt as though she was swimming in the blue energy, floating around and drifting out to sea. "Wow. That was. Wow." Bo spoke smiling into the kiss. As the kiss broke Tamsin's grip on the hospital bed loosened as she slipped to the floor unconscious. "Tamsin? Tamsin? Can you hear me? Fuck, why did she let me take so much!" She quickly crouched down next to the sprawled body in front of her. "Trick! Help she's not waking up!" Trick rushed downstairs, surprised that it was Bo's voice crying for help and not the Blonde's. Bo lent in to try to give her back some chi.
"Bo don't, Valkyrie are one of a few species that can only feed when someone is close to death in battle. It won't work." Bo sat back frustrated and guilty. "You need to protect her while she is in this state. If any other nearby Valkyries sense that she is close to death they will come to try to take her to Valhalla. Even if she could recover, they rarely risk losing their own kind." Trick had his concerned voice that Bo never liked to hear. "What's so bad about that? Can't Valkyries pass freely between this world and Valhalla?" Bo didn't understand the technicalities but she knew she couldn't lose the girl who was making risking her life for her a habit. "A Valkyrie taken to Valhalla at the brink of death is punished for their failure. The cost of immortality is that they must give up all their memories and emotions of the people in their life." Trick continued in his lecturing tone. "Stay with her, I will try and find something to ward off any other Valkyrie." Trick left, scurrying up the rickety staircase. Bo sat on the cold hard floor cradling the blonde's head in her lap. The ghostly face of death still warped the cheeky grin Bo was used to seeing. She gently stroked her fingers across her face, tracing every outline. She lent down to press a kiss to her forehead. "Why would you do something so stupid?" As she pulled back, she noticed some of the colour had returned to her face replacing the deathly image. "Tamsin? Please wake up? I need you to wake up. I don't want to fight this war without you by my side. You've been the only one whose believed in me fully recently." Many hours passed, Bo finally drifted to sleep still cradling the girl she felt so attached to. Tamsin finally spoke with a cough and a groan, "Ugh my head. What happened. Bo?" "Oh thank god you're alive" The brunette beamed with relief. "No thanks to you. Couldn't even move me onto the comfy bed? My back is killing me" Tamsin spoke wincing as she sat up. "I'm so sorry I didn't realise how much I was taking" The guilt was overwhelming for Bo, to think she almost killed someone so important to her. "Really it's fine. I can handle a mid-day nap if it means I still get to see your face." Tamsin smirked, sitting up. "Thank you." Bo smiled sincerely. "Anytime." Tamsin said with a wink. Standing and brushing some dried blood and dust from her clothes, inspecting the ruined garments, "Am I going to have to start carrying around a change of clothes when I'm with you?" The pair exchanged a genuine smile. Bo wasn't sure what their relationship could be but she knew that there was so chance she was letting this girl out her life without a fight.
