【Chinglish背景音乐】Have you ever said Chinglish? Maybe you have said it for several times. But you never care about it.Do you want to learn more pure English? Welcome to the English class on air. Now, listen carefully. We will teach you something what you never learn it from school.

大家好，欢迎来到今天的空中英语课堂。今天我们要讨论的问题是中式英语——Chinglish.

I'm a little tired. What time is it now?
Pay attention about this sentence. What time is it now是一个直接从汉语翻译过来的句子，也就是我们通常说的中式英语“Chinglish”。讲英语的时候没有必要说now，因为您不可能问what time was it yesterday, 或者what time is it tomorrow?所以符合英语习惯的说法是：请问现在几点了？What time is it, please?What time is it, please?还有一种说法是：How are we doing for time? How are we doing for time?这句话在有时间限制的时候特别合适。
Now, this is a short conversation to help you to remember these.

A:Excuse me. What time is it, please?

有人开玩笑说，全中国人最擅长的一句英文是：My English is poor. 我的英语很糟糕。但是外国人遇到自己外语不好的情况，他们会说，我的外语还有一些问题，但我试着去做的更好: I am still having a few problem, but I am getting better.　I am still having a few problem, but I am getting better.　或者说，我的外语不是很流利，但我还在练习：I am not 100% fluent, but at least I am improving. 当你想要问某个人是做什么工作的，你会怎么问呢？Maybe you will say,"What's your job?"
No, it's wrong.因为如果您的谈话对象刚刚失业，如此直接的问法会让对方有失面子，所以您要问：目前您是在上班吗？Are you working at the moment? Are you working at the moment?当您已经确定对方目前有工作的时候，这时候才问：目前您在哪工作呢？Where are you working these days?或者您从事哪个行业呢？What line of work are you in? Where are you working these days? What line of work are you in?

Now, this is a conversation to help you to remember these.

A:Hello, Ann. We haven't seen each other since we graduated from school. How are you?
B:Fine, thanks.
A:Are you working at the moment?
B:Actually, I lost my job last month. But I found a new job last week.
A:Really? Where are you working these days?

A:Really? I work there, too. That means we are workmates!

记住了吗？当问别人从事什么工作的时候，要先确定对方现在有没有工作：Are you working at the moment? 确定对方有工作后，再问目前您在哪工作呢？Where are you working these days?或者您从事哪个行业呢？What line of work are you in?
