It's been a really disappointing week for everyone here at Chelsea after first going out of the Champions League and then losing the Premiership title to Manchester United. It's hard to describe how gutted we are all feeling right now because we had expectations to win both competitions this season.
It was never going to be easy for us at Anfield, we knew that, but to go out on penalties was really hard to take. We have no need to be hard on ourselves because we gave everything to reach Athens, but it still feels bitterly upsetting to have missed out by such a narrow margin. Fair play to Liverpool though, they took their penalties very well.
As for the league, it's not been easy for us to give it up. We felt all along that we could overtake Man United, but it just wasn't meant to be. Again, I thought we did well enough with ten men at the Emirates to win at Arsenal. But, United, to their credit, just kept on getting the points they needed. You have to say well done to them for that.
It's important that we keep our chins up for the rest of the season now. We still have an FA Cup final to play and it doesn't get much better than that. We're going to Wembley and we are desperate to finish the season in style with a win for the fans. After all that we've been through this season, it would be brilliant to round things off with an FA Cup final victory over Man United. That is what we're focussing on now.
