A new horror series Hemlock Grove already started filming
While Bill is done with his role of Captain Manouche in upcoming version of Anna Karenina (which I seriously can’t wait to see!), he is definitely not just hanging around and doing nothing. According to the latest news there are two project he’s been working on lately that we can be excited about. This article will be about just one and I will spare the other one for another article so you don’t drown yourself in too much information :) All over the internet there’s been a lot of talking about Eli Roth and his partnership with US streaming company Netflix. The well-known director of gore thriller Hostel lately made a deal with Netflix on 13-part gothic horror serie called Hemlock Grove. The series will be based on the novel of the same name written by Brian McGreevy (released in March 2012; hell of a speed, right?). In the following video Roth explains why he want to use this novel:
Netflix creative chief Ted Sarandos says that the book is a “sly blend of J. D. Salinger and Mary Shelley”. But what is this book really all about? This is what Amazon.com says about the plot:
An exhilarating reinvention of the gothic novel, inspired by the iconic characters of our greatest myths and nightmares. The body of a young girl is found mangled and murdered in the woods of Hemlock Grove, Pennsylvania, in the shadow of the abandoned Godfrey Steel mill. A manhunt ensues—though the authorities aren’t sure if it’s a man they should be looking for. Bill Skarsgård was casted as Roman Godfrey who eventually teams up with a local Gypsy boy in attempt to solve the mystery on his own terms. This role should be quite big and new for Bill but regarding his previous experiences I bet he can handle it flawlessly as always. If the reports are true the filming started on July, 13 in Port Perry, Ontario near Toronto and is supposed to wrap up on November, 30. Series will be coming in early 2013.
